they're probably fishing to see if they can use your account to spam off of.

What's this whole "fishing" thing?

I get some weird Myspace messages sometimes from girls I don't know who want to be my friend and from whom I detect no same-sex-romantic intentions. What's up with it?

I get e-mails with the exact same format, text, logos, etc. from people claiming that they were the highest bidder on the eBay auction I put up and saying that they sent me the money.

Meanwhile, I have never sold a single thing on eBay.

It's poetry, man. Dada. You can only hope to understand it by half, one day.

There's likely a hidden image (1x1 pixel) that alerts their server that you viewed their email. Expect more spam unless you use an email client that blocks images by default, like Firefox.

I'm pretty sure I used to get stuff like that in my spam....weird emails about crusises followed by these detached stories of people hanging out with their friends vomiting in diners or some mess. I used to most some of it on my LJ.

Ohh, that's the only thing that's made sense so far, thanks.
