Oh mang, I've been praying for this thing:

The Laser Turntable

Image

It's still got some problems. The lasers can't distinguish between the grooves of the record and the scratches and dirt on it. Plus the muffugga costs $15,000.00. BUT STILL - it's evidence that the day is coming when I'll be YSI'ing digitally unavailable shee like "No Dry Ice Or Flying Pigs" from the Buzzards Jellied Eels To Record Deals and you KNOW that'll make the world a better place.

Tell you what, I win the Super 7 this Friday and I'll see what I can do about that. I even hook you up with a new computer and in exchange you flood us with that vault of yours.

You got a deal. Depending on the size of your winnings, I might push for a trip to Cancun too.

Hell, let's grab a few of those ATL boys and we'll ALL go down and destroy what's left of it.

Technically, Canada never put a man on the moon. We, the U.S. citizenry, did.

Hell, we're the only ones. Not even the Soviets got a man up there (for a lunar landing).

Uh, that was "we" in the wider sense - as in "mankind", you myopic masturbater.

So wait, you dont play the LP because you dont want to put a stylus to the vinyl or you dont have your tt hooked up in a way that you can burn LPs?

And the laser tt's have been around for a while, and they dont seem to be getting cheaper or more functional which is really surprising.

The latter. Plus a bit of the former.

Hmm marantz CD burner like the DR4050, cost you a LOT less than that there laser tt record each side as an mp3 and then you split them up on your computer by identifying significant pauses. Now go burn some buzzards

Oh, I've got a component burner, so I can transfer analog to digital, but I just can't seem to get the sound to be acceptable. It might be time to give up the 30 year old amp.

I think Bloor might disagree here ;)
