Wait, Timis, you're the one who hooked me up with the new Liars. My faith in humanity is crumbling.

I think this thread is al my fault.

I heard Discoteque on KEXP yesterday, and then chatted with gauchebag.

YES, I admitted that I liked a song from KID A

I don't know what this all means, but I know I am scared. :o

You mean Idioteque?

I think Kid A may still be my least favorite Radiohead album. That or Pablo Honey. There are a couple of songs on it I love (especially Idioteque) but a lot of it bores me.

Kid A
OKC
HttT / Amnesiac
Pablo Honey

Bends not listed due to lack of familiarity, but from what I've heard of it would probably be third.

Kid A is generally out front for me, slightly ahead of OK Computer and save for a few tracks on The Bends everything else I can take or leave.

That really surprises me.

The Bends brings TEH Rock.

You know how you feel about the Replacements, that 'wanting a bit more', that's basically how I've always felt that about The Bends. There are some great songs to be sure, but on whole I generally don't give it really high marks.

Hey, I went to college ;)

You should see the pictures of when I died my hair black and had the soul patch.

I can see this. It really may have been a time and place thing.

I listened to Pinkerton the other day, and I thought it was kinda meh, but the Blue album still holds up.

I've never heard that story.

I have, however, seen an annoying frequency with which the phrase "the emperor has no clothes" has been used on the internet by people trying to assert their authority on matters of opinion. God, is that ever tired.

It's a pretty good story. Summary: gullible emperor buys fancy new "clothes" from "seamsters" who convince him that the clothes are only visible to very intelligent people. Not wanting to seem stupid, the emperor acts like he can see them. Eventually, he walks through the streets of his empire, a stupid naked douchebag.

But at what point in that story did he "lose" his clothes?

No, it's just a revelation to him and everyone who's been anticipating his beautiful new clothes that, in fact, the emperor has no clothes.
