Is anybody else liking this record?

I think its cool, especially the ocasionally over-the-top, Queen-style, vocal harmonies.

I think this album is great. It may be in my top 5, as long as I verify it's actual 2006 release date. I have had some troubles with that in the past. :)

It is a great album. It grew on me really quick.

Yeah, I'm liking this a lot. I can't think of what it reminds me of musically, at least. There are some moments that make me recall Mercury Rev, but not quite as serious as that. And then some songs kind of recall ELO, at least for me.The vocal harmonies are kind of hystrionic at times, a la Queen.

Anyway, I like it. Going to spin the other one later.

Okay, so I listened to it once and I'm kinda wishy-washy on whether or not I like it. I love the vocal harmonies. But there are times where his voice is just too generically sweet, if that makes any sense.

I can see it growing on me, though. Stand-out tracks for me were: I'm Actual, Dog Problems, Dead End and If Work Permits

I think the song If Work Permits is the real effing deal. I love it when it gets to like 2:00 in.

I must be missing something. I had trouble getting through the whole thing. Maybe it's a grower?
