We've had quite a few photography threads lately so I thought I'd keep it rollin'. I personally love the look and would like to pick one up. Anybody here have one or know where to find them?

Sweet, hadn't really looked yet. Just ran across some galleries on the net. Is 120mm film relatively easy to find/develop? Is it much more costly than 35mm?

Sorry for all the questions, just couldn't find a lot of info the few places I looked. Thanks in advance.

120mm cost more and is more costly to develop surely.

I dont do medium format (yet) but if I do, it will be with a hasselblad 500 series.. beautiful cameras

EDIT: But here

have fun paying for those hassey lens. ouch!!!

juice, i don't know what h-town is, but if you can find a pro photo lab, you can usually get a photo assistant's discount if you ask for it. they will also sell you expired 120 at a discount. but expect to pay 15-20 bucks per roll (film + process and proof)

The only reason I dont have one yet.

And I would only get one lense, a 50mm equivalent. (Ok , or maybe a 105mm too)

H-town = Houston

Thanks for the tips. 15-20 bucks per roll is a little pricey for something that's kind of a crapshoot to begin with. But when the images turn out, you get some cool stuff out of those cheapie Holgas. Considering the cameras themselves are that much I may have to look into the accessibility of film and processing some more.

Cheap plastic toy camera that gives some unreal results. Known to let light leak in through the bodies, have strong vignetting issues and soft focus which is spotty.

Results can be beautiful though because of these conditions. Do a search on google images for Holga and you will immediately recognize the effect.
