Not sure who's going this year, but the I guess official schedule is now on the site. One of the reasons I'm going to this event is to see Manu Chao and he's playing up against Kanye West, which is an act I don't want to miss. What to do...

I did witness Kanye about two years ago at the House of Blues, so if I was to miss him, I'd be pissed, but not too disappointed.

Last year's lineup was more interesting to me. (Los Amigos, Arcade Fire, Z-Trip, what?) What's the RIYL on 'Cold War Kids', LA people?

I... would see Kanye, but you should see whom you haven't seen.

well, I may not be LA people, but definitely check these guys out.

RIYL: The Walkmen, Jeff Buckley, The Velvet Teen

though looking at the schedule...you would have to leave early for feist...and I mean you WILL

Feist, huh? No, I will skip her completely.

Am I the only person attending this festival?

I was initially interested purely based on manu chao but then manu announced an LA show.

Any idea on his live show? I would think he would be showcasing a lot of new material, right? Has it already been five years since Esperanza?? Damn!

He did put out a new album last year but you had to buy his book to get it. Its not as good as Clandestino or Esperanza but everything he's done is good imo.

His live cd is probably my least favorite, which I suppose doesn't bode well for his show. But he's one of my absolute favorites so it would take a lot to convince me that he isn't worth seeing.

alright i'm like 75% in for lolla. the only incentive of me staying in la for that weekend was street scene in sd but the only artist i'm dying to see is tricky.

i think most of my friends are going to street scene but regardless aug 4 is my fucking birthday and i don't want to be in la... i just have to check out airplane flights & make sure i can get the days off work.

Is that a children's book? The album all in French? I'll have to look for this.

Of course it is! And I never doubted you'd have the hookup... you'd disappoint me if you didn't.
