Nobody watches Cragi Ferguson, or Jimmy Kimmel?

bwahahahaha

Carson blows, but at least he has good musical guests.

I actually like Craig Ferguson. He's occasionally pretty funny and he just comes across as a really genuine, likeable guy.

That said, I still watch Conan instead because I've never heard of anyone he has on his show.

craig ferguson and jimmy kimmel are both all right shows. i haven't watched kimmel's show in a long time because it's on in chicago at about 1am, but the format used to be different than all other late night talk shows and i thought it worked out well most of the time. (short monologue and then sometimes up to 5 guests.)

I have a friend who wrote a screenplay that Ferguson was set to star in. The funding was all in place, and Ferguson committed to the project over lunch, face to face with the producer. THE VERY NEXT DAY he announced he was the new host of that Late Night show. The project, of course, died immediately.

So likeable? Maybe. Genuine? Nope. Just another desperate fucker willing to do anything to get ahead.

He's a terrible actor, so it's probably a blessing for your friend.

letterman's been doing the same exact shit for 20 years. it's still funny, but it's nothing new.

Conan's monologues are just as shitty as everyone else's, but his characters and occasional features still make it better than the rest ofthe crop.

Leno should just go hang himself.

We do all agree that The Late Shift is one of the best made for TV movies EVER, right?

I wish that would come out on DVD...my VHS is pretty old.

And the book it's based on is fantastic.

Even though I rarely watch Dave anymore, he was once the best thing on network TV. Even if he dies a slow painful death, those first few years when I was in high school and college he was THE man. White man, anyway.

I'm with P'Shaw on this one. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, in the history of television was EVER funnier than Letterman on NBC in the mid-late-'80s. Any episode involving the antics of Chris Elliott belongs in the TV Hall of Fame.

The SHEFRAC thinks he's absolutely H.I. Larious, and while I find him to be a mildly amusing Scotsman, he's certainly no Darren Frew!

I just remembered another thing that I hate about Conan. The fact that he still makes gay jokes about Clay Aiken and fat jokes about Ruben Studdard.

They haven't been mentioned anywhere else in ages. We've had, what, three new American Idol winners since then? But his jokes about Clay seeming gay still go strong.

conan is my hero

that being said, kimmels first 10-15 mins is hilarious, just playing clips of various tv shows and making fun of people
and his this week in unnessecary censorship is gold

also, carson daly blows now but for the first while when he started he was awesome. he didnt even bother trying to be funny, he just had interesting conversations with people, like charlie rose but hipper

Leno = pure shit. not even shit with composite materials in it. just plain pure, fresh from the ass shit.

people say, "headlines is soo funny, and jaywalking is sooo funny" - but guess what? that's OTHER people being funny, NOY jay!

conan is great. the fact that he's quick witted means that even if a skit falls flat he could save it. he doesn't all the time, but he can and does sometimes.

also, Triumph pretty much rules supreme over any "regular" that Jay and Dave have.

one pioneering thing Dave did though, was take his unknown staffers and make them famous. Before Dave, the only people in front of the camera were the host and the guest. now it's interns, cue card guys, misc. producers. Ellen does this, Kimmel does this, Conan does this, i'm sure Jay does this but i don't watch his show...
