Never had Horton but KK is pretty dissapointing. The donuts are good, but no better than about 452 Chinese run places in So Cal I've had donuts at. But the coffee YEEEEEECCCHH!!! Man I hate thier coffee

There's a funny story about Tim Horton on Legends of Hockey. He used to get teammates to come sign autographs at his first store with the promise of being paid. At the end of the day he'd pay them in donuts

I've never had Tim Horton donuts. Don't like Krispy Kreme donuts. Pink bubblegum ice cream sounds amazing right now. I'm getting nasty Dairy Queen ice cream tonight.

The thread title confused me for a second. My blue collar dad has a friend who says "Canadian" instead of "black" or the 'n' word or whatever when he's talking shit about black people. I had an ex who said "Canadian" when he spoke of lesbians. I almost forgot that actual Canadians to exist.

Just imagine if Sheryl Swoopes were Canadian. She'd be raised to the third power.

Personally I think that this entire thread is basically a moot point - I've had both and while they are decent doughnuts they can never compare to the wonder of a:

Mmmmm...thick dense...tasty doughnut goodness....

For those of you not in the Seattle area, while Top Pot has their own stores and production areas in the stores, Starbucks has been selling them in the Seattle area and have now started selling them in some Portland area stores - Supposedly they(Top Pot) actually have a new small bakery somewhere in the Portland area but as I understand it this bakery is currently only supplying Starbucks stores. Hopefully this expansion will lead elsewhere so that the rest of you can experience what a truy great doughnut tastes like ;)

Dunkin Donuts should be forcible closed by the state.

Krispy Kremes are amazing ifyou can get em hot.

The used to be a place called Daylight Donuts when I was a kid and lived in Kansas. No donut will ever live up to the after Church donuts and the green Kool Aid (army bases ALWAYS serve green Kool Aid)

Daylight Donut is still big in Nebraska, they have a big rooster on half of their stores. My sister worked at one in high school. I had no idea they were also located in Kansas, I just thought it was a chain for Nebraska towns bigger than 10,000 people.

Winchell's and Lamar's are the big chains for the Lincoln-Omaha area.

Not donuts, but best domestic pastry I've had was at Prantl's in Pittsburgh.

Is their mascot a Rooster?

Looks like they are one and the same.

Sweet.

Although I guess, in the grand scheme of things, this means nothing.

Are we talking donuts? Because clearly KK is ahead by a mile there. I realise Tim Horton's are more important than churches around here but still.

In a battle of the donuts, it's not even close.

<--- Canadian

...but voted for Krispy Kreme because I detest "Timmy's". Not exactly sure why. Maybe it's cos I'm a snobby old Montrealer who is spoilt by easy access to good espresso and considers chain coffee places to be sub-standard. Yes, that's prolly it.

edit: it's spelt "Kreme"? Good lord, can't you Americans spell?

okay, so it depends on what you're going for.

if you want sugary american crap you go to krispy kreme.

if you want hearty canadian food and better coffee you go to tim horton's

the point is though that you should never have to make this decision because they don't really exist near each other, do they?

Don't know, sir. However, Canada lost. So your initial post and your following one seem to be incorrect, in a "majority thinks" manner.

Who cares about what you think Frenchie, you can stick with your croissants and eclairs.
Plus, how is a donut hearty and who goes to a fucking donut shop for quality coffee, it's like going to a truck stop for fine dining.

only someone who lives in a retarded state would say something like that.

well you know what...if it's 4am in the morning and your only choice is the pilot discount center, i'm going for the finest dining i can get.

people just don't understand these donut places. dunkin's has great coffee for a shitty place and the toasted coconut donuts are awesome. krispy kreme is good every once in a while (like in the autumn when they make that pumpkin spice thing) but if you ate it regularly you'd be diabetic and fat like 80% of people south of the Mason-Dixie line.

and yes, those statistics (and boundaries) are not made up.

KK gives me heartburn. I'll go with Timmy Ho's. When their new location opened near my house I was like a little kid on Christmas morning. The trouble is everyone else around here thinks so too; now the wait times for coffee in the drivethru are making me late for work.

Actually, I was kinda poking fun at the fact that American are constantly teased Cans for our "messed up spelling".
