At work and Union Station are on the CBS Early Show playing on the TV in the newsroom. Every time I see/hear her, I think I'm turning into a bluegrass fan. The woman is a goddess. Goddess. Gawd-Essssssssss.

Invariably, I'll hear some other shitty country-bluegrass-pop outfit and I'll realize she's not like the other crap.

I actually quite like what I've heard of Krauss, as well.

Krauss does a killer slow version of the Foundations' "Baby, Now That I've Found You" in that PBS concert of a few years back.

Oh, and I'm totally in love with her guitar player, Dan Tyminski (the guy who sang "Man of Constant Sorrow" in O Brother Where Art Thou). He's got the cutest fucking underbite.

Wrong, correct answer:

She thinks she's the Allison Krauss

A gentle, clear mountain stream on a summer day. But close enough.

I saw her doing a live performance on PBS recently and although Bluegrass isn't normally my thing I was impressed.

Yeah it's remarkable that a woman who looks like a Church Of Christ Sunday School teacher can sing with a voice blessed by Pan.

I think maybe she made a deal with a pre-Christian Celtic God or something.

Someone else whose voice melts me in puddly little quiveries:
Kate Rusby

For some reason I thought you were talking about Alison Shaw.

Since this thread was resurrected from 2004, I figure we can post just about anything in it.

Like for instance, I don't like radishes.

Cream corn is creepy. And there's something wrong with Paris Hilton's bones. They old lady bones.

Kevin James is twice as fat as he used to be.

Some people make terrible dumplings and shouldn't put them on my plate, ever.

The Who's "Athena" is an awesome song even if I can't picture Pete ever sleeping with Theresa Russell.

There's a Blackadder movie in pre-production where he'd be in the Russian Court just as the revolution is about to take place.

Spies Like Us needed WAY more nudity, man.
