Oh, to be living in Bristol to witness this sweet ass show.

Perhaps I shall clear my calendar on the 19th and just go. Who's with me?

Are you fistf*cking me?

Portishead....the one band i never got to see live, and the way things have gone, seems less and less likely I ever would...

I should totaly skip the though of LA on the 19th, and really take a plunge....

who's with me?

Fuck...

I've seen neither. That's going to be one tight ass show. I hope it's recorded or put out on dvd.

I think Daddy G is officially back, but I could be wrong. Shit, I liked 100th Window quite abit anyway, so I wouldn't really care.

Will a webcast suffice?

From portishead.co.uk:

We are playing live for the first time in 7 years
as part of a fund raising concert for the Tsunami
Crisis in Asia at the Bristol Academy on
February 19th – we'll also be sharing a stage
with Massive Attack for the first time. And more
artists will be added to the bill very soon.

We'll each play a short set, around 20 minutes
and we'll be performing songs you know – very
nearly unplugged. As so many of you are based
outside of the UK the whole event can be viewed
as a live web-cast and we'll be posting more
details of this here so keep checking the site.

Check also this link:
http://www.crisisinasia.co.uk/

20 mins sounds kind of stingy but I would pay a shitload of $$$ just to see them play for 5.

Have been lucky enough to see Portishead when they toured in '98. It was f'ing unbelieveable. At least this gives us hope that a new album might come out soon.

btw: MA are working on their new album right now. The vocalists hired for this one are: Feist, Mos Def and TV on The Radio.

here.

Portishead update:

Posted: Thu Dec 23, 2004 5:25 pm Post subject: Portishead - an update

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As 2004 draws to a close it seems like a good time to update you all on what Portishead have been up to this year.

Beth has written songs for Joss Stone & Jane Birkin, collaborated with David Steele & Rodrigo Leao and also written a film soundtrack for a French film "L'Annulaire" - more about all this at www.bethgibbons.com

Geoff & Adrian have been producing a new album for 'The Coral' which will be released on Delltasonic in Spring 2005.

And they have all been working on tracks for a new Portishead album.
Work on this will continue next year and we expect the album to be completed by the end of 2005.

We'll be posting regular updates next year - thank you all for your patience: we appreciate your support.

Happy Christmas

Massive is actually kind of weak live. Too big of a revolving cast, they try to incorporate instrument in songs that weren't there in the recording of the track originally. I love there output one of my fave acts but live they dissapointed me.
