since this seems like the chicago weekend thread, let me just say that i had a really horrendous friday. it's the worst day since i've moved here. so, i am coming out to schuba's on saturday and i hope to meet people and i hope it's a good time because i need it. see you then...

Ok, so I didn't have web access all weekend, so I missed pretty much all of the posts. I did meet Spencer and Matt when they came to Gingerman (I liked this place, and Spence, thanks for calling). Then we strolled over to Smart Bar because Kate (gfrnd) and I were completely sauced at this point and couldn't fight the urge to go somewhere we could make out on a dance floor.
It was good to meet both of you obners. Spence, when you walked through the door, Kate said "I bet that's him." I guess she has a sixth sense for nerds or something?
All in all, Chicago was great. Neko and the Sadies were fucking phenomenal and I saw some great art at the Museum of Contemporary Art. Specifically the photo and video works from Chinese artists. They were very moving. The Kai Althoff exibit was cool, and I will be checking out his band, Workshop.
The Art Institute was great today, but I wish I could've spent more time there. I saw an architecture exibit that featured 10 groundbreaking modern Chicago architects and saw a really great photo exibition by Tokihiro Sato. We tried to go to the photography museum at Columbia College today, but it was closed for a class.
We wanted to see Spamalot too, but ran out of time. That show will be a HUGE hit!
