I remember they opened up for the Counting Crows and the Wallflowers when I was 9. I thought they sucked...AND I WAS 9 YEARS OLD.

I find it hard to believe that That Dog would travel to Sri Lanka to play with Counting Crows and the Wallflowers.

I thought they were Twin Cities-based.

Not to mention, how old are you to have seen them when you were nine years old?

I haven't heard that entirely yet. I have read online that a lot of people were disappointed by RFTS because it was more glossy than the past ones. It was the last album by the band and very much an Anna Waronker solo effort.

RFTS is the best that dog album. once you accept the fact that it was produced by Brad Wood, you'll begin to recognize it's pure pop brilliance. I didn't care for the Anna Waronker solo album but this album hovered somewhere around my Listmania top 20.

even though Totaly Crushed Out had a song about Micheal Jordan and the s/t discs was an obvious Raincoats/Sonic Youth rip off, they are great as well.

I'm 18. I saw them in 1997. Horrible.

Well, if there's one demographic whose opinions I can always count on, it's those grade four Wallflowers fans.

Dude, have you LISTENED to the song you posted? What are you, some kind of closet fag who lies around the house watching 10 Things I Hate About You and reading Jewel poetry?

I've heard colonics do wonders for nervous tension.

This is a sweet album. And Verbal seriously is going to have a coronary by the time he's 23.

I had an innate feeling that, if anybody was going to stand up for this album, it would be bort and spoon.

I think the only thing I've heard of that dog is on that DGC rarities compilation, which I am now listening to. It's all right but the Teenage Fanclub song is better.

So maybe now that you're 14 and all grown up, you'll like them.

I can, if you want one. I was more spotlighting the album but that's a good idea that I can post one track, since that doesn't take long at all, and then, if interest is there, rip and YSI the rest.

for some reason this reminded me of something. DGC must have had some deal with the stores, you could pick this up brand new for 7.99, even at a crappy Record Town. Nowadays at Best Buy that's pretty common, but in 1997 it was unbelievable.

That's pretty cool. I'm pretty sure I bought it used a few years ago for $6 or something but I'd be very hard-pressed to find any new release for less than $14.99 in stores today.
