Jason, I was having a horrible time downloading this, though I adore you for sending me think link.

When does this come out here, again?

It's already out stace. It's just hideously expensive. For now at least.

i think it's only released outside the US next week...so the prices you are seeing are probably import prices.

Two of the best songs on this album, "Whirlwind In D Minor" and "Visit From The Dead Dog," have the fucking worst titles for songs that could be/are singles. Nobody's going to play a song on the radio called "Visit From The Dead Dog," and the fact that it didn't even chart over there should be blamed on this. I wouldn't be surprised if Harcourt was dropped after this album. I think the album is good, but for an artist I care so much about, I almost think he's sabotaging any chances he has for success.

Pointless rant over, sorry. Frustrated.

Well considering that his songs are almost never played on the radio in the states I hardly think he friggin cares. I've never ONCE heard one of his songs played on a Chicago radio station.

And overseas they have a bit more of a sense of humor regarding these things.

Oh, I know they'd never play him in any of the Americas. I meant the U.K., where he at least had some songs chart before (and not like, #98 or whatever). The really depressing thing is that the album didn't even crack the top 100 over there. That's just painful.

Here Be Monsters > Elephant's Graveyard (if we're counting it) > Strangers > From Every Sphere > The Beautiful Lie

Am I wrong?

i picked this up at tower yesterday. and i just listened to it this morning. i hated it, seriously. i found it to be totally boring and without any of the emotional draw that ed harcourt's music usually gets out of me. i felt like one of the only people who really liked strangers and this was nowhere even close. i will give it some more chances because it took awhile for from every sphere and here be monsters to sink in for me, but my initial impressions are quite sour.

It certainly doesn't grow on you after the first couple of songs. I liked half of it at first, but with each successive listen, it gets less and less interesting. The songs he has streaming on Myspace from time to time (unreleased) are worlds better than this album.
