Hm.

That Charalambides album is definitely very good. I'm starting to wish I'd bought it instead of downloading it.

I only listened to that Prefuse album once, and I thought it was easily the worst thing he's ever done. But then again, I've been less interested in hip-hop lately than I've probably ever been in my whole life.

Todosantos aeropuerto highly recommended for anybody who likes The Notwist... apparently democratic socialism is good for alt rock... another great venezuelan band Telegrama for those who think the cure married to sonic youth sung is spanish is interesting...

Herbert... I did it again, bought it because I was seduced by the reviews... god I hate this

I learned a hard lesson from buying Herbert's Bodily Functions and Erland Oye's DJ Kicks.

Glissandro 70
Voxtrot

are they really that good? RIYL?

I downloaded Herbert first - realized it was shit. Deleted it and saved myself a few bucks - I think I'll use the money saved for a lap dance.

Actually I can imagine this latest Herbert playing during your lap dance...

And yet it didn't sound the least bit experimental. He used unconventional sources to make some pretty conventional sounds for electronic music. So disappointing.

for the most part, that's a really poor listing of 2006 releases.

Yeah, pretty much none of those I thought were very good.

I do like that Herbert album though...can't see why Obners be hatin' on that one.

Where's Busta Rhymes? Are you unaware of the fact that he tears up the clubs?

I've become completely unaware and uninvolved with modern music this year. I'm not sure why. Nothing has grabbed me nd enticed me to dig dig dig. I've just been buying and listening to pretty much nothing but old music lately.

What kind of music are you looking for, or what are your preferred genres?

wow, i've not heard about half of those records, and for almost all that i have heard, i didn't like them. not only that, i think i violently disagree with nearly every review I read in that feature. this must be why i no longer read CMG regularly...

but i am curious about that herbert album, i suppose i should make someone send it to me

It seems to be pretty polarizing. I don't know anyone who thinks he's just "ok"
