Tom Selleck.

Seriously though--this could be badass if they played with the alcholism and all the stuff Stark was in the 70s-80s run.

20 years ago Eric Braeden would have been perfect for Stark. But he's too old now.

Jon Favreau's directing.

Tom Cruise was in talks to play Stark years ago but I think that's been dropped. I think I've read that Favreau wants to go with a relative unknown, a la Superman Returns, now, though.

And the story's being updated from 'Nam to the modern day. So that he's injured by one of his own weapons, forcing him to create a suit of armor to protect himself.

it would have been cooler if they kept it old school and made it a period superhero piece.

I hate this soap opera guy. Worst overacting on TV.

I'm wondering if Favreau can pull this off. Relative unknown means Vince Vaughn but not until he can finish up with Jennifer Anniston's ass long enough to ink a dealio.

Good Lord. Braeden's been one of the only good things in soap operas since 1980. Not sure what you mean by overacting since he's the one of the most understated and suave bastards in the history of television.

Gollum was about the best visualized character in the history of film.

I'll bet there's a ton of CG in films that you don't even notice.
