Great album, haven't played it in awhile either but it's always been one of my favourites from the 90s. I liked about half of the next one and most of her solo album as well.

I very much prefer Hole over Nirvana or Foo Fighters.

I don't anything by the latter two anymore but I still treasure my copies of LTT and Celebrity Skin.

I was never too much of a Hole fan, but I never disenjoyed the albums.

I enjoyed her solo for the most part as well.

If I hadn't completely loathed Courtney Love at the time this album and most of her work came out, I probably would have been ambivalent toward it. Now I can see some good stuff in her work, although I still think it is meh, but when it came out I thought it was complete shit due to my hatred of her.

I can't believe there are people singing the praises of that bitch. I'm content knowing she's an after-thought at this point. Fuck her.

I love Courtney Love in the sense that she is a train wreck that I cannot avert my eyes from!

She was a rock star in that perfect train wreck kind of way, there's not many of those around anymore out there behaving badly and seriously fucking up. If Pete goes into rehab, I don't know who else there would be. Hey, imagine Pete Dohertey and pre-cleaned up Courtney Love playing songs together!

And I saw Hole at Lollapalooze in 1995 and she was unhinged and off the rails in her performance, throwing everything into it. She also encored with the Replacements 'Unsatisfied' that was truly awesome. Compared to some of the catatonic zombies that are praised for their genius, I'll take Courtney fucking Love and her insanity.

I went to that Lolla too. I was a 16 year old angry girl and I loved it. But that was the summer she had a fight with Kathleen Hanna and I was like, all Kathleen, all the time, obvs. bc Bikini Kill owns Hole any day

yup.

live through this and celebrity skin are two of my favorite albums. i've never had a problem with courtney's music and her shenanigans. who cares? she's a rock star and they're all nuts. people get all offended and up in arms with her because of her relationship with saint kurt and the fact that she's a mom and should behave like one. she gets a lot of shit because she's a woman. what other rock star gets scrutinized for their parenting style?

A lot of it does, but there are a couple of near perfect pop songs on there. I'm thinking 'Boys on the Radio' and 'Heaven Tonight', plus the title track.

true. Haven't you noticed that some of Courtney's better tunes come about because she's screwing some musician, like Kurt, Billy, Trent...

I am genuinely a big fan of Courtney's. Okay, some of the shit she does in her personal life nobody can defend. But even America's Sweetheart was a great album. Better than Zwan or Bolly's solo album or a lot of other artists' post-band solo debuts.

And I've watched Man On The Moon and The People Vs. Larry Flynt just for her. And I'll be sure to pick up her autobiography when it comes out later this year because you know it's going to be interesting. Whether or not the book is an unhinged catastrophe or a decent look into her side of all the stories remains to be seen.
