Anyone 'round these parts read this? A PopMatters review makes it sound interesting with some damn irritating tendencies of the author getting in the way. Any thoughts?

i read it a couple years ago. once i got started, i couldnt put it down. very good book.

It's a great book, highly recommended, but the author is extremely fond of his own opinions regarding the subject.
