I didn't give a fuck about music at my wedding. I sure as shit didn't care if it was cool or not. It's less about the bride and groom than those attending and making sure they had fun (and since it was a small town in Northern Ontario, you can pretty much imagine what the tunes were like). But everyone had a great time, so I was pretty happy with the turn of events. And there was only one arrest at the wedding as well, so I still consider it a massive success.

The thing is we're going super cheap ass route and using an Ipod as a DJ. Lord help us and have mercy on our souls. Other than the 1st dance song with my bride to be and me, "The Weight" (our song), it pretty much just needs to be a mix.

the song me and mr. danced to at our wedding:

"Smoke Rings" - Glen Gray and the Casa Loma Orchestra. No words, just music.

Another one I've always thought was sweet was Let's Active's "Fell."

I was just joking in reference to the two of them getting drunk and arrested at a wedding reception or similar gala a year or two ago.

Yeah, I know, I was just joking in kind that while I might let a lot slide musically at my wedding, Rush or Rush-like progeny would never be allowed. 8)

Unless LooGAR decides to name his Johnny Taint side project "The Bastard Sons of Geddy Lee," in which case an exception will have to be made when and if you renew your vows or ever re-marry.

Obviously an exception could be made in this case.

fuck that. I think I would seriously just throw in half the stax/volt box set, disc 2 from the sun records set and louis prima's capitol years. I truly can't think of more than 7 or 8 songs from after 1975 that i'd want played at my wedding. and god help the motherfucker that breaks out the electric slide or ymca.
