So really, when does the Tightest Skin In Rock contest between you and Iggy end? And what's the prize?

Or, more specifically in my case, "Why did you have to ruin my honeymoon with that insipid 'Hot, Hot, Hot' song, you freakish bastard?!?!"

You be the judge. Frankly I can't stop laughing at these guys.

My question would be the most obvious one: Why the hell did it take so long?

In terms of talent vis-a-vis mouthsize

Also, was the original formula for The New York Dolls: The Rolling Stones + JAIL?

Did he see New York Doll, the documentary, and if so, what were his thoughts? Did he feel he was portrayed unfairly?

An autographed copy of this doc just came into my possession (my wife won a contest, came with DVD and poster). I think the director signed it but it's nearly illegible. Gonna watch it this weekend.

Actually, he's put out two records with his David Johanson and the Harry Smiths incarnation in the last few years, a self-titled one and the 2002 follow-up titled Shaker. They do mostly acoustic versions of old blues and roots music.

Both albums are excellent, by the way.

After reading this thread I finally watched it last night. Man, what a sad story. I didn't think he got portrayed unfairly. David might feel different though. Arthur seemed to be the one who, despite his conversion to the forgiveness pack, was still bitter about being poor and forgotten. Maybe it was in the editing or whatever, but he didn't seem to take a lot of responsibility for his actions. Trying to kill yourself after seeing your former bandmate in a Bill Murray movie is pretty fucking sad.

It was great seeing them perform together again though at the end. I had no idea he died so soon after the show. So yeah, I would want to know what David thought of New York Doll.

"I thought it was really great. They almost got him, almost fully captured him. It's great to have that artifact that document of Arthur. He one in a... a... planet."
