phily will make some outrageously stupid pick as always. this might be some indication on iverson getting traded, though.

I'm watching this but I have no idea what the fuck is going on.

And yeah, we got Sheldon. Not excited.

Maybe we can trade up and still get Sergio. Or another 6'9 swingman.

i actually like what the blazers have done. gotten rid of telfair - good luck with that celtics. gotten rid of an aging ratliff and a bencher khryapa. gained Brandon Roy, Aldridge, LaFrentz and Dan Dickau. Improvement if Roy and Aldridge pan out as I think they will...plus both are good character guys.

Yikes. The roof's going to come off of this place. Personally, I don't think Isiah meant to take Balkman. I'm convinced he thought he was taking former Dallas Maverick and Knick great, Ronaldo Blackman. He probably remembered Blackman lighting him up in the 80s, saw the draft board, and decided, "Yes, yes that guy's good! Let's take him!" Charles Dolan then likely ate a $100 bill, took a bath in Poland Spring water, and said "Go For it!" The Knicks fans are beyond outraged. There's an "F-Dolan" chant going at full force, which I'm sure is really delightful for the ESPN sound crew. So the Knicks have Balkman. I can't wait until Isiah realizes it's not the guy he thought it was. And I can't wait until Nate Robinson hazes him next year. What a disaster this team is.

That Knick pick was awesome. Not only did the crowd rain down boos but the analysts were speechless and stunned. Even better was when the ESPN reporter went into the crowd and asked a Knick fan what he thought of the pick. No offense, but he couldn't have picked a more stereotypical Knick/Jets meathead to talk to, "DA GUYS A BUM, WE GOTTA FIYUH ISIAH AND GET SOME GUYS IN HERE TA WIN A TITLE!"

The Hawks = Laughable.

Shelden Williams, worst kept secret in the Draft.

The vitriol down here today for GM Billy Knight is palpable. He should stay indoors today.

I had to stop listening to sportstalk radio this morning because it was making me so damn furious and I can't have the Hawks making me mad. The terrorist will have won.

Dude, you guys should be ecstatic at this point that they didn't draft another 6'7" small forward.

Yeah, they drafted a 6'9" combo forward.

As for the Knicks, I think they end up moving Marbury (they have to) with a three guard rotation of Francis, Crawford, Collins...ideally they could move crawford, but who would want a guy that has nothing to play for? Balkmon is definitely a weird pick as they guy likely wouldnt have been drafted, and they could have gotten a real point guard (Rondo, Williams) a big man (Boone) a scoring two guard (Brown, Ager) a bruiser (Alexander Johnson, Paul Davis)...hell, I would have take Johnson or Leon Powe way ahead of Balkman, at least then the crowd might have laid off the Knicks a little bit.

So bad...

hey, he can rebound and block shots and doesn't need the ball. it's a small step up, but like rick pitino said, Antoine Carr's not walking through that door, folks. Sasha Volkov's not walking through that door.

I agree to a point. He can bring some much needed defense to them but what's he going to do with the Shaq, Ben Wallace, Duncan's of the league.

We have a glut of 6'7- 6'9 guys and we desperately need a PG. It was brutal last year watching Chris Paul(who we passed on) blow up and then seeing Marvin Williams get little minutes and even less points.

All we've heard from every sports reporter in Atl all year is how we need a PG. ESPN analysts/reporters have said it all year as well and we don't draft one. I mean, our GM has not proven to be THAT much smarter than everyone else.

But hey, it's the Hawks.

The problem was, every PG was a reach at #5. I would have taken Foye and attempted to turn him into a combo PG, coupled with Joe Jhnson, what a great backcourt. Foye may very well be the player in this draft that everyone kicks themself for not picking. Childress backs up the 2 guard, Smith, Williams, Harrington (if he stays) provide a Suns-like frontcourt and yes they need a center. Where does Williams play? Does this mean they get someone to give them a PG (Iverson?) for Harrington and a pick?

Sorry to see Quincy Douby pass up his senior year, hope he does well for Sacramento. Don't know the last time RU had a player go in the first round.
