i dont know what i did, but within the last 2 weeks...
*i've had 2 netflix movies stolen out of my mailbox [the same one, no less]
*the backlighting on my phone died and it's pretty much unusable
*i had my bike regeared and when i went to ride it i noticed there was play in the pedals and one of my rear spokes was just plain GONE
*i'm doing the work of 3 people since our dept admin took an extended weekend for visiting family

seriously, just punch me in the testicles.

Sorry to hear this but fortunately you can re-psych yourself (gradually) into having 'good' things happen again.

Looks like most of the occurences can be intervened upon or steps can be taken to get them corrected.

Thanks Dali Lama.

Seriously though, you need to bust some heads. Bike people should be dealt with first. I always find stealing some jerseys make me feel better, but perhaps your taste is more in the clipless shoe dept. A designer water bottle perhaps. New Shimano things?

Isn't your phone under some type of warrenty?

Taking things out of yr mailbox...damn. Get the postal people involved forthwith.

Hey Flying Dali Dumbass Rabbit,

Me Dali Lama?.. not even close! Couldn't even tell the difference b/w a Tibetan Lama and a farm raised Lama.

..Just that when sh*t happens like that I find myself focusing more and more on all that sh*t instead of doing something about it.

Encouraging someone to psych themselves up again (ie do something, take action) to get some positive results is not a sage (Dali Lama wisdom), just simple encouragement.

the upswing:
verizon is replacing my phone, but i may have to wait 2 days. well, whatever. the only person who ever calls me is my gf anyhow, & i live with her.

the bike is going to be fixed by hook or by crook. i just hope i can swing something before the weekend b/c frankly i had planned on spending most of my time on 2 wheels, that is when i wasnt enjoying the smooth stylings of everyone from tvotr to seu jorge to the boredoms.

i'm sure netflix is going to cancel my account and maybe charge me for the [now 2!] copies of french connection that have parted ways with the known universe.
nothing i can do about it, i suppose, beyond accepting the fact that lots of people, given the chance, are fucking scumbags.

In relation to netflix. Do they have some sort of extra monthly charge you can pay as a type of insurance over stealing? Just curious.

Have you tried taken the battery out of your phone and putting back in? This just happened to Colin's phone when we were in Austin and when we got to the store all the guy did was take the battery out and put it back in. Poof! Screen fixed.

Wow, French Connection. At least they stole a good one.

I've had way more movies than that stolen, and shittier ones, and my account is ok.

I believe they actually start an investigation. Seriously. I believe they notify the postal district, and try to figure it out. What time does your mail come to when you get home? How long a time. Could you perhaps have a neighbor watch it? Wasn't there a place (michigan?) where the postal workers themselves were stealing the discs?

Yeah there were 2 female clerks that were caught stealing the movies. I forget where it was though.

I've never had a Netflix movie go missing but I have had a PS2 game from Gamefly not show up.

verizon replaced my phone, but get this: the warranty on the NEW phone they gave me, according to them, does not extend to a year from today, but a year from when i first got the phone, which was last july. so i'm covered for exactly 30 days.
does that make little to no sense to anyone else, or just me?
