another ipod related question: Can I take stuff from a DVD and throw it on a video ipod? Case in point: can I take some Newsradio episodes and transfer them the the girl's ipod to watch on the road trip today? I can't see how that wouldn't be possible, but I don't get enough mac time to know for sure...

Rip the Dvd to your hard drive.
Convert the DVD files to something iPod-compatible.

I use this for the conversion, but it's for PC only. Apparently, Handbrake is a good Mac conversion app.

nice. I like the idea of listening to TV while I drive. Not really, but at least she can watch something while I'm driving and smoking and cursing.

yeah i'd do something like DVD Decrypter to rip it to the hard drive, autogk to convert to an avi, and then videora to convert to ipod size (which i could do with autogk but remembering file and screen sizes always takes me forever).

I made a spreadsheet that you may find useful. I will send it your way over the weekend.

Don't think so. Never done it, but I'm pretty sure iTunes support it on the PC.
