Up for grabs via PM

Sonic Youth is about as noisy and transgressive as I can handle and love them for it. I've given this a quick spin and dig it. Sounds like SY to me and no one else sounds like them. I actually prefer the tracks being more moderate in length.

What is with the notion that artists need to be held to a constant benchmark of cathartic innovation? I like to see how artists mature without anchoring them to their debut/early work. As far as SY goes they are their niche. No one sounds like them and rarely approach that edginess without being porno or to withdrawn. In a way they have honed that edge.
