2005 release. If not, it would be on my list as well.

Yeah, it does appear to be an '05 release. I'll sadly strike it from my list. I shouldn't have questioned Radcliffe.

according to the label's website, this is came out in Feb '06

It was released on another indie label in early 2005, then picked up by Bloodshot and re-released in 2006. I think it was released late last year in the UK as well.

Stones, retro, whatever you want to call it, it's damn good.

And yet somehow, I still havent heard the whole record.

2005 release.

april, 2006

I don't know if allmusic is considered the end-all be-all, but they say 2005. And I remember hearing about it last year.

Amazon and Metacritic both list it April, 2006... was on Cokemachineglow's Best of 2006 (6 month) list. But in addition to All music, their own website talks about an October, 2005 release date... so I guess that's the definitive. I stand corrected.

Meaning :

A. You forgot about it and need to revisit.
B. You can't decide what you like more. This or the new Scott Walker.
C. The Stones like quality is a bit nauseating, but you'll give it a get out of jail free card anyway.
D. The anticipation of hearing it again has caused your genitals to suck into your body cavity
E. It s**ks big f**kin elephant d**ks.
F. meh

Very slow year. Only thing for me that really deserves to be called outstanding is:

1. Willie Nile- Streets Of New York

If pressed for any more:

2. Wilard Grant Conspiracy- Let It Roll

Then, there's a jumble down lower like DBT's, Two Gallants, Neko Case, etc.

From what I've heard from others, the new Handsome Family release is excellent, but I haven't been able to find it locally.

And I've got high hopes as always that a new Guy Clark album set for an August release will end up near the top.

Not just me, but also the infinitely more credible (and less follicle) Saint Patrick/Idiopathic.

all the hype just came across this year.... so i think that's why a lot of people think it's an 06 release... it would've made my top 20 last year if i heard it before then. :/

Only listened to this once, and I loved "Lucifer's Memory". I'm trying to hold off on listening more until I get a real copy, but it's tough. I'm thinking it'll end up pretty high on my list.

Dude, it's fucking awesome. I've had it for a while already, but I'll definitely buy a real copy. I think it's a real accomplishment. And I'd recommend becoming intimate with it while the summer's hot.
