The show started at 7, I got out of work at 6 and had a forty-five minute drive. I had to make a deposit for my boss, I got stuck behind a tractor and the road I needed to take was closed, yet I still arrived only ten minutes late. I am a speed demon.

He had the audience sing along for a couple of songs at the end of the show (and we sounded fantastic, by the way) and everything just flowed so nicely. He was beautiful. I'm a sucker for beauty and I see it in far too many things, which, I suppose, just makes me this gigantic sucker walking around all day. Perhaps this is how I lend myself to hurt and disappointment so much... epiphany people! (oops, sidetracked) heh

Anyway, even bigger than how nice Alexi sounds live, is the fact that I, again, went alone. I think I'm finally broken in. I used to hate getting to anything late and it was a dinner show (though, by the time I arrived they were only serving alcohol, which was fantastic). They seated me at a table with people, so I became the third wheel of a couple I didn't even know. And I didn't mind.

I'm so glad that someone else has found the beauty of Alexi. Thumbs up on going alone, Stace!

He came here last week. I drove there tired as hell, parked, then took a look at the line stretching down the sidewalk, and said "meh." I still haven't heard him, just of him.

He's playing an in-store here later this month, perhaps I'll go.

Damnit, I just checked the site for the record store (Easy Street), and they just added two new in-stores that interest me, but one (Mountain Goats) is the same night as a show I already bought tickets to (Wolf Parade/Frog Eyes), and the other (Rainer Maria) is a weekend I'm out of town.

You're my hero, Stacey... I still can't manage to go to shows by myself. Glad to hear it was an awesome show. Alexi's pretty easy on the eyes and ears, eh? ;)

Ohmygoodness, he's adorable. And so lovely to listen to. It seemed like such a long time between the release of the ep and the full length, I nearly forgot how much I enjoyed him.

Oh oh! And...

I saw fireworks from the highway on my way home as well as my first fireflies of the year.

Nice night.

They have fireflies up there? I never saw them in Boston, after having them all the time when I lived in MD.

Every year right around this time, yep. They fill the fields and it's awesome.

Saw Alexi last night -- so damn amazing. What was even more amazing was the usual rude Los Angeles audience being quiet during his set and shushing others that spoke a little too loudly. Maybe cuz it was a bit of an older crowd, though, definitely a lot of younger people to balance it.

I'll have to post photos later.

He looks nice too. I wanted to take him home with me, but I guess in this country they refer to that as kidnapping. Oh well...

There were a lot of gypsy skirts and wannabe hippie girls last night.

My crowd was pretty eclectic. There were gypsy skirts, but it was also in Northampton...
