has anyone heard this? I've only heard "Pushover" and it's weaseling its way into my subconscious like one of those little beetleworms that Khan puts into your helmet. I'm sure that there've been thousands of threads on both this album and Star Trek 2, but another one's not going to hurt anyone and will probably make the world less shitty.

that last EP (Ultimatum) was lodged in my head for months. I like "Pushover" enough to merit my buying this too. damnit.

My favorite of 2006! I can't wait for them to tour.

Listened to it today. It fizzles a bit at the end, but the first six songs are really strong.

I've got this ranked at #2 of the 46 2006 releases I've heard to date. Other than Frank Black, it's the only one with a legitimate opportunity to dethrone Destroyer from my top spot.

I was kind of disappointed by their latest, and I loved their first one and that EP lots.

None of the songs stuck for me.

This is the the best thing Ive heard this year. Excellent rock and roll album from start to (almost) finish, but the only criticism I have is that its way too short. Easily the best thing LW have done.

"Rich Wife" is my current SOTY.

I think this is pretty great after one listen. I'd agree that it's just good rock and roll, but with it clocking in slightly less than 40 min I think it's the perfect length. However, I'm on record as a staunch supporter of shorter, leaner albums particularly for music like this, so I'm biased. The singer reminds me at times of Gord Downie, which is also particularly appealing for me. Definitely recommended.

I've given it two spins and it hasn't hit me yet.

I listened to about the first 4 or 5 songs at work yesterday and thought it was pretty average. Nothing as exciting as New Girl on it so far.

This is the first work of Long Winters I've heard, and the first time through was just okay for me. Second listen was better, and I'm listening for a third time right now.

I have to agree with Saint Patrick about the shortness of the album, though. I have no problems with shorter albums normally, but this one, whenever it finishes, always leaves me with the "Wait, is that all?" feeling.
