Dude, it's fucking awesome. I've had it for a while already, but I'll definitely buy a real copy. I think it's a real accomplishment. And I'd recommend becoming intimate with it while the summer's hot.

Oh, I'll definitely be buying it. Only thing is that it's not out until August 8, and I hate buying things that I've already listened to a lot.

My feeling was that it's much better than Blue Cathedral. Their vocals have really come a long way (although I have a soft spot for the more primitive stuff on the first record).

2005 release.

april, 2006

I don't know if allmusic is considered the end-all be-all, but they say 2005. And I remember hearing about it last year.

Amazon and Metacritic both list it April, 2006... was on Cokemachineglow's Best of 2006 (6 month) list. But in addition to All music, their own website talks about an October, 2005 release date... so I guess that's the definitive. I stand corrected.

all the hype just came across this year.... so i think that's why a lot of people think it's an 06 release... it would've made my top 20 last year if i heard it before then. :/

it's officially a 2005 release but i'm going to consider it for my 2006 best of. cuz i want to.

Well this just smacks of double standards when I want to include US stuff that gets a delayed release here!

Really I don't care. Was just in a mood to be pedantic at the time.

In some vague order and subject to much change

1. Neko Case - Fox Confessor Brings The Flood
2. The Grates - Gravity Won't Get You High
3. Augie March - Moo, You Bloody Choir
4. You Am I - Convicts
5. TV on the Radio - Return To Cookie Mountain
6. Beirut - Gulag Orkestar
7. Something For Kate - Desert Lights
8. The Gossip - Standing in the Way of Control
9. Belle & Sebastian - The Life Pursuit
10. Gerling - 4

Still deciding on

The Sleepy Jackson - Personality
Band of Horses - Everything All The Time
Islands - Return to the Sea
Camera Obscura - Let's Get Out Of This Country

I was thinking otherwise cos it has 2005 on the packaging but would be happy to be told otherwise

I was wondering this myself since several sources list the release date as Nov. 2005. However, I'm pretty sure it wasn't actually out, at least in the US, until early this year.

I guess Ish would know better than most since he works for their label, and he's got it on his list for this year. Of course, that could just be a promotional tactic...
