1. Would anyone be surprised if the guy did off himself? There are drugs that will cause a mass coronary. I mean, do you really think he could've handled jail?
2. Or, the guy was just such a piece of shit who only cared about money and work that all of the stress caught up with him.

The fucker died in his vacation home in Colorado.

Do you think he would have gone to a real jail, or Club Fed? And if he ended up in either, he'd by pardoned by W on the last night of his term of office, with as much as he's contributed to the republican party.

Why do you care how he died? And then letting people kick his dead body? Yeah, he did some bad stuff that caused a lot of people to lose a lot of money, but jeez, there are a lot of worse things that people have done. Or maybe they should be kicked too. I could live with that.

By the way, I think he looks a bit like Nixon. Interesting coincidence...

I was hoping he killed himself in a gruesome manner when I first heard about this, especially since CNN wasn't actually saying how he died initially.
I actually wouldn't put it past some guy like this to fake his death and escape abroad. He didn't just screw people over with Enron, he screwed people over in Nebraska and Iowa beforehand when the pre-Enron energy company he ran took off for Houston and left alot of people footing the bill here.
He wouldn't have ended up in hardcore Federal prison, but he probably wouldn't have gotten Club Fed. He was the posterboy for corporate fraud, and they needed to prove a point with him.

you know, i usually read about the deaths of people in their 60s and think about the possibility of it happening to my parents because they're in that age range. today, though, i was like, "wait a minute - neither of my parents fucked over thousands of people and are awaiting sentencing. they'll be just fine."

What's really weird is that I just saw on TV that his death wipes the conviction off the docket, for all intents & purposes. WTF?

He was found guilty...it's not the court's fault he croaked before he had a chance to appeal. If you're "innocent until proven guilty" shouldn't you be "guilty until proven innocent" if you've already been convicted?
