I found this crazy site today...

here

This guy analyzes Rufus's music from a music theory perspective.
Pretty crazy stuff.

Kind of neat to see that he says Rufus sounds like Chopin and Ravel sometimes on "Want Two" because I really get that sense listening to some parts of it.

That band name makes me think of Bill and Ted.

Chaka Khan was in a band called Rufus.

Highly recommend Stompin at the Savoy Live.

Their first single - 'Tell Me Something Good'
after the refrain a talk-box repeats - "tell me, tell me, tell me, tell me"

Sorry to be a jerk but...

Is this really a music board?

Introducing....
Rufus Wainwright

Image

Maybe he's outside of the more indie focus of the grand Obner, but really, he's been around for years now and has released many albums most of which are pretty well know commercially...etc etc etc...

Unless you were joking.

I'd be curious to read that site, but my little knowledge of classical music wouldn't help me to enjoy that essay. Rufus is great though.

I wonder if that Judy Garland thing Rufus did was any good?

Thanks for the history lesson, but Rufus the band beats Rufus the gay crooner by 30 years, by the number of albums released, and by the number of albums sold. Maybe be a little more specific next time.

Okay DAD.

1) I somehow doubt "Rufus the Band" sounds like classical music in any way

2) Reference to album title.

That is all.

No, I was totally with you. Just don't have the time for the Rufus dissertation.

And I am, too, interested in that Judy Garland concert re-do, if only because the songs are so great. Just can't stand the Garland stank on the whole project, though.

Don't use those Lean Cuisine panini ones, though. Boxes are too soft and they sound like shit. Use more like Stouffer's tuna casserole.

And he was on the short-lived Fox show Undeclared. He was fucking hilarious on that show.
