I'm just kicking around ideas for places to work and was curious. My question really is this..

do good bands roll through town on a weekly basis? Wayne Newton of course is a given. Being close to Chicago I got access to anything, which of course I'd miss if I was to get out. anyone know?

When I lived there, there were a few places around town that had shows though I hardly ever went to any of them. This was back in 94-95 though so I'm sure there's plenty more places now.

I've been visiting vegas 3 times a year for the last 7 or so years... I love vegas. But as for the music scene, I've noticed since balcony lights closed and Big B's (used to be an amazing cd store) changed ownership, it's been more miss than hit. Rest assured, you will have the opportunity to see big, small, and indie acts on their tours because they will hit vegas, but you will be surrounded by tourists and those who don't give a shit unless it's off strip. I saw deathcab at the HOB recently, and before that, Built to Spill. It couldn't have been more lame as far as the crowd went and the band picked up on it and played their set and couldn't wait to get off stage. Just sayin
