That one's on there, but you definitely have some great albums on your list.

I like early U2, but Boy is pretty spotty, if you ask me, and that Arctic Monkeys album must be really good.

These are definitely deserving.

I don't really get the high regard for On Avery Island, but then I've never been a huge fan of Aeroplane.

I'm surprised My Blood Valentine, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd are so high. Great bands with great albums but I would have them further down on the list.

Good list overall, though.

I love Pink Floyd's debut. It's my favorite album of theirs, actually.

Stuff I would have added if this were my list (I might have missed them on the Uncut list):

Devo - Q: Are We Not Men?
Funkadelic - s/t
Brian Eno - Here Come the Warm Jets
Tubeway Army (Gary Numan) - s/t
Can - Monster Movie
B-52's - s/t
Kraftwerk - s/t
Ash Ra Tempel - s/t
This Heat - s/t
Soft Machine - Vol. 1
Swell Maps - A Trip to Marineville
Parliament - Up for the Down Stroke (if this counts)
Squarepusher - Feed Me Weird Things
µ-ziq - Tango n' Vectif
US Maple - Long Hair in Three Stages
Silver Jews - Starlite Walker
Minutemen - The Punch Line
Drive Like Jehu - s/t

newer stuff I might consider:
Akron/Family - s/t
Need New Body - s/t
Joanna Newsom - The Milk-Eyed Mender
The Books - Thought for Food

I can't believe Violent Femmes aren't on there either. That's a slight.

I was going to say that was a good list, but then noticed the inexplicable exclusion of this...

...and immediately the list became invalid. I mean, this doesn't just belong in the Top 100, it belongs in the TOP FIVE!

Nice to see The Associates in there who have been getting a lot of plays at my place since I unearthed 'Sulk' for a mix I was making for Katie.

I'd rate 'The Affectionate Punch' behind 'Fourth Drawer Down' and the aforementioned 'Sulk' but still...

Not a bad list, but The Dolls should be number one.

Not to get in the way of all the insane tripping going on in this thread, but um...

Ready To Die

36 Chambers
Reasonable Doubt
Criminal Minded

Did Stephen Merritt make that list or something?

I agree with this, especially the top 20.

Like other have pointed out there are some glaring omissions like Three Imaginary Boys, TheViolent Femmes and I Should Coco. My Bloody Valentine’s Isn't Anything is really good but not their debut as they put out an album called My Bloody Valentine in the 80’s. Nowhere is a better debut though.

Where's The B-52's?

Otherwise, ditto 90% what Ex Lion Tamer said.

Or Appetite For Destruction. How the fuck is that #76?

Good call on the omission of the first Violent Femmes. :wtf:

And I would put Warren Zevon's debut above all of them. Except that a quick check of AMG says that he released an album called Wanted Dead or Alive in 1969...hmph. Well then, his proper s/t debut (the one released in '76) is better than all of these.

I think I'd put every one of these ahead of each hip-hop album to make this list
