i'm still in the anchorman hate boat. i'm afraid that it's permanent--when everyone around you quotes the same jackass lines over and over while you still hate it, irreversible damage is done.

I laughed my ass off at Anchorman, but I saw it for the first time free on HBO. I'll probably do the same with the Ricky Bobby flick.

This movie is guaranteed to make big money. NASCAR is the 3rd/4th biggest "sport" in the US.

yeah, but there wasn't in the anchorman trailer, either.

I take it back. I just watched the trailer. This looks really bad. Whatever I saw the other day was not this trailer, or maybe I was high on paint fumes.

Except the redhead with glasses who says "Ricky Bobby is not a thinker." She looked real good.

My problem with most of the movies mentioned in the Will thread is the fact that they can't stick to a steady tone. They cheat their way around corners by going surreal, sappy, clever, broad, sentimental, ironic, whatever. As much as I like the guy, Anchorman seemed like really lazy writing for a smart guy.

Awesome. I would not mind getting to know her better.

I wonder if my wife would mind?

I just watched this and however unfunny the trailer was the movie was the total opposite. I don't think it was as good as Anchorman but I liked it a lot more than I expected to.

Your signature is really ironic considering Amy Adams was in a few Office Episodes as one of Jim's love interests.

This is exactly how I feel about it. A talking dog with a headgear and the fucking flute scene make this movie a series of semi-laughable vignettes.

I haven't seen Ricky Bobby, but it looks about the same.

The two little kids were the best.

I just realized after reading this now that there's a girl who started working on our team well after this thread occured and she looks a lot like this chick in this particular picture. Awesome.

I haven't seen this yet but my coworker keeps saying the line one of the kids says - "I'm gonna come at you like a spider monkey" or something like that. For some reason, that's actually reason enough for me to want to see this movie now.
