I guess Stallone gotta get the last one in before before he's older than Mickey Goldmill was in the first film.

My wife heard on the radio the other day from someone that saw one of those early test prints that Rocky actually loses. I can't believe that, but who knows.

The only "Rocky" flick I'd be interested in seeing is one where he fights Bin Laden.

You fucking know that'd be tits.

why is it so surprising that he would lose?
he lost in the first one and this is his "artistic" return to form.

My buddy was in Vegas when they were shooting some of the fight scenes about 6 months back.. He may wind up in a few of the crowd scenes.

I thought he was suppose to die in the movie, and I believe Pro-boxer Antonio Tarver is his opponent in the film, since he was filming for that movie before his fight with Bernard Hopkins.

This is what wikipedia said too:
On October 28, 2005, he was confirmed for the role of fictional boxer Mason 'The Line' Dixon in the upcoming film, Rocky Balboa (formerly called Rocky VI).

what kind of menacing nickname is "The Line"? I understand how it fits with the first and last name but still.

Yeah but how impressive is it that he's play ing this role again 30 years after the original film came out?

Oh that's right...IT'S NOT. HOLY SHIT THIS IS GONNA BE AWFUL! I'll be comlaining about it the entire time I'm eventually watching it.

They screened "Rocky IV" as a comedy in the movie tent at Bonnaroo. I used to love that movie when I was kid. It's just fucking terrible now.

I can see it now:

Adrienne: You can't win Rocky...you've just signed up for AARP.

Rocky: I CAN DO THIS! I just need a little support.

Adrienne: Listen to me baby, you don't have to prove anything...I'll still love you.

Rocky: Honey, I gots to do this for myself..and my self-respect....have you seen my syringe?...the clean one.

I remember walking out of the theatre after seeing that movie and punching my buddy I had just watched it with directly in the face.

I was grounded.

It would be pretty funny if this one was just a re-release of the original with George Lucas' goons replacing Apollo Creed with the MASON "THE LINE" DIXON.

Yeah, I've heard about that...I was just thinkin' having Rocky go mano a mano against Bin Laden could be this generation's version of when he went up agin' the Russkie in "Rocky IV".

i saw it last night. sly was there. the movie was ok - better than and not as cheesy as i'd expected, some underdeveloped characters, some really good scenes, some horrendous dialogue, some poor choreography in fight scenes, mike tyson, etc.

rocky fans will probably love it.
