Project Runway 3 will debut this summer; final three may show at fall Fashion Week

Breaking tradition, the third season of Project Runway is scheduled to debut this summer, reality blurred has confirmed with Bravo.

With the early start, that means the final three will probably show their collections at Olympus Fashion Week this fall, not next spring. The previous two seasons have debuted in December, concluding shortly after Fashion Week in February.

The show will debut July 12, according to TVShowsOnDVD.com, which notes that it “begins airing on Bravo just a couple of weeks after the Season 2 DVD release.” That’s according to an ad in the April 24 edition of Video Business magazine, which says the season two DVD will be released “just in time for the TV premiere of season 3, airing July 12 on Bravo.”

A Bravo spokesperson just confirmed to me that the show will return this summer, but could not confirm the specific date nor the finalists’ participation in fall Fashion Week. A July start, however, would give the show about two months until Olympus Fashion Week in the fall, about the same lead time given for the past two seasons.

Casting for the third season did begin earlier than it did last year, with open calls held immediately after the second season concluded.

My girlfriend loves this show, so I'll inevitably have to sit through every episode. The first one of this season was tivo'd. Don't feel bad for me, though. The beer helps me through.

I hope there's a character like Santino this season, though. He made it interesting.

I had never seen this program until the weekend before Independence Day. Looks like the only episode I needed to watch was the final one which summed up the entire season.

so what's the consensus folks?

I can't stand Vincent. I can't believe he didn't get the boot after that fruit basket/hat farce. You know, I'm all for older folks getting a second chance at life and making something of their careers, but ol' Vincent needs to get off at the next stop.

Stacey was this season's Marla... older and talented, but had no clue with new technology. It was probably a good thing they booted her this early in the game.

I LOVE:
Kayne (NO WIRE HANGARS!)
Keith (but I can tell he's gonna be a drama queen already)
Micheal (I actually thought he should have won last night-- a coffee filter dress? Genius!)
Robert (but will he turn out to be this season's Daniel Franco?)

I DON'T LIKE:
Laura (uppity bitch who will turn out to be a one trick pony-- visions of Shtangi appear)
Angela (bubble skirts???? for real????)
Malan (fake accent be damned)
Vincent (for reasons I said above)

I don't really have a strong opinion on the others yet, but I can tell some of the women are gonna be weak and crybabyish.

I nearly cried when I saw cutie pie Daniel V. and Nick on the "road to the runway." I miss them terribly. I wish I had Tim Gunn at my work.

edit: oh, and I was kinda giddy to see Micheal Kors' orange face again... I must be ill. Heidi is beautiful. Nina will continue to piss me off.

i'll bet that lady with the 5 kids is like the MEANEST MOTHER EVER. She just seems like she'd be a scary lady if she wasn't trying her absolute hardest not to act like the emotionless lizard she probably is.

Tim Gunn's podcast today helped me get to know some of the names better, but i'm really hoping that Malan gets arrested or catches a case of beat down soup or something. i'm going to enjoy hating him more than Giada Delaurantis.
