News for you fans out there:

Explosions in the Sky have announced that they've completely finished writing for their next album. The album has six songs, ranging from three to thirteen minutes in length and will have artwork from Esteban Rey. The band plans to begin recording the album in August and hopes for a February release.

The band will be performing a few shows in the meantime, including the 10th anniversary/birthday party for Temporary Residence Records on September 2nd at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City and the Austin City Limits Festival on September 16th.

Where's the PMYSI?!?!?!

In any case, this is great news. I'm always up for some EITS news. Hopefully I can catch them on tour in the fall.

Didn't somebody from this band post with us back in the CMJ days?

Great news. Such an amazing band--hopefully I'll be able to catch them live.

Can't wait for this record, and I'm bitter that the show in NYC sold out already. I've been at the last two they played here, and they were both mesmerizing.

That would be news to me, and I've liked the band since way back in the CMJ days.

This is a band I've always meant to check out and never got around to doing so.

What can you tell me?

A swift kick in the ass by two of Obners favorite females is all I need.

I am all over this. I'll start this weekend.

I agree with them in part. But I say start with The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place. Or whatever the hell the title is.

Those WHo tell the truth, etc. is a good album, but I personally think that both TEINACDP and the Travels in Constant 8 song bidness that I upped a while back are WAY better. But it's all good. I say start with what's most accessible.

Yeah, thus the slight sarcasm from me.

It's okay though, I don't listen to you anyway.

What do I have to do to make it up to you? Give you a freakin' flower?

You're totally hijacking the thread.

Dude. When I posted in that post the band that you think of for the person above you thread, there should have only been one answer. Explosions in the Sky. I am a Jedi, pumachik is my padowan learner and EITS is the Force. If she doesn't admit it, she's just embarrased. All that to say, I could never hijack an EITS thread. We are one.

Way to ruin my NMR fun.

But, sure, back on track; I really am going to dig in this weekend. Obner rarely steers me wrong.
