FROM BIllboard:

As previously reported, an MMJ live album and DVD, "Okonokos," will be separately released in the fall. The double-disc CD is due Sept. 26, while the DVD will arrive Oct. 31 and will also be screened at select U.S. movie theaters. Eschewing the straight-up "film the show" approach, the latter follows a storyline that transports fans to an MMJ show in the middle of a forest.

I love MMJ, and the time me and jagged saw them last year was one of the best shows I've ever seen.

I'm guessing this new double album was probably recorded at or near the very end of their tour, because the band is absolutely at the top of their game, BUT Jim James's voice is completely shredded.

It's too bad they couldn't capture a show when his pipes were in better shape.

I've been playing this pretty much all day. It really is an excellent album. Is there going to be a DVD? If so, goody.

there will be a dvd...it comes out at the end of october i believe...there will be a theatrical release beforehand.

i've just listened to disc one so far...and all i can say is "best live album ever".

well, maybe not...but "i will sing you songs" is fucking incredible.

That's awesome a dvd is coming soon. I've been hoping for one from these guys.

And "I Will Sing You Songs" is the track I posted on the tune a day site. It's the standout, I think.
