Dude, you talked such shit about Comets when I posted a track from "Avatar".

Scott Walker caught me off guard, not being too familiar with his work.

I'm still surprised by how good the Yeah Yeah Yeahs Show Your Bones is. I didn't see that coming after the Daisy Chainsaw-lite of Fever to Tell and that first ep.

i'm surprised by how much this record is just bleh for me. biggest (and most surprising) dissapointment for me so far this year.

Definitely. One of the biggest letdowns of the past five years and definitely biggest disappointment of this year.

When I heard 'Gold Lion', it was enough for me to think twice before buying the album. When I downloaded the album, and only made it halfway through, it was enough for me to skip past any articles on them or late-night appearances. They've entered Weezer territory for me.

That just about sums up Show Your Bones for me.

Fever to Tell is one of my favorite rock albums of the decade so far, but their sophomore full length did nothing for me.

Show Your Bones is still on fairly constant rotation here. I like it a lot, more so than the debut. Solid set.

All albums I found out through this board, and had no idea about before this year. Also, all in my top 10 at the moment.

You people astound me. I love Fever To Tell. And their first two EP's.

SYB was just so boring. The first single sounded like a Tegan And Sara track. And, while I do enjoy T&S, I don't need Karen O singing it. Mind you, if I want to listen to a Yeahs record, I can always put on the new Metric.

I'd say this is my biggest surprise, Radcliffe liking this.

The Church - "Uninvited, Like the Clouds"

I seem to be alone on this one (or close to it) but, damn, this is not only The Church's best since the early 90s but also one of the finest albums of 2006.

agreed on the church album - it will be in my year end top 10 at this point. 2 or 3 awesome songs on that album.

Gotta disagree on the Guster. Love the new one.

I like it well enough but I haven't had much desire to take it off the shelf once I put it there. Whereas I listened to the last three over and over until I got completely sick of them.

I think that there might be too many slow songs. And Ryan sings a lot. In the past, it was usually back and forth between Ryan and Adam. With Joe a full member now, I expected more diversity. Instead it seems to be down to Ryan singing almost all of them, with Adam only getting a song or two.

I think Guster were playing in Prospect Park in NYC last sunday when we were wiffling. Someone mistook them for Raffi at first.

Biggest surprise of the year? I finally got some pubies...

However, due to the fact that I like "The Warning" from Hot Chip after having previously written them off big-time, I am no more of a man for growing said pubes.
