Good lord people.

I don't pay enough attention to people's expressions. I'm more peeved by what actions people do or don't do.

*"holla!" - I get SO annoyed by that.

*"funner" - that's not a real word damn it!

*people who do not know the difference between "your"/"you're" and "their"/"they're"... ARGH! It's such a pet peeve of mine.

*"kitschy" - I really want to punch people when they use that term.

I vote we replace this with 'ovular'; even if we only did this for 'seminal girl-punk' bands and such it would break up the monotony.

Same here.

I heard a guy on an infomercial this weekend say, "critics of my book say my evidence is only antidotal".

Erm, don't you mean, anecdotal? I was hooked for the next 25 minutes after that.

I think 'Holla!' is funny.

Unfuckwithable is possibly the stupidest word in the history of the english language.

And I hate the term 'Foodie'...just say you're a fat cow who likes to eat.

Thank you, I agree (again!). Except that it's not in the English language.

Yeah! We'll listen to Pinback all day and refrain from saying "unfuckwithable"! It'll be rad!

While I hate this word as well, I think it is more about food snobs who use words like "mouthfeel" (aaaaaghh!!) and follow macrobiotics and shit.

I like unfuckwithable. You can't fuck with it ;)

Also, fuck may be the best word in the lexicon.

Oh... and the use of the word "Cheers" as a replacement for thank you. I like the occational drink now and then, but for some reason the use of that expression makes the person using it sound like they're an alcoholic.

Don't even get me started on the use of the word "artsy", or even worse "artsy-fartsy".

I really can't stand "artsy-fartsy." If I were an actual artist I would consider it extremely condescending.

THANK YOU. Man. that bothers me endlessly. It's not even a word.

The things that bother me the most in conversation is when the listener interjects incessant sounds or words of affirmation to give you the illusion that they're paying attention. Iwould just rather them be quiet and pay attention. I don't need constant "mmm's", "yeah's", and "sure's" during my story or any type of conversation for that matter. Wait your damn turn and respond. haha

Oh, and I hate the term "pet-peeve". That's a real pet-peeve of mine.

most people i know actually get upset when there isn't some type of affirmation of listening. i try to not interject often, but enough that someone like that's not going to think i'm ignoring them. i don't like the interruptions either. i'd rather just have someone nod when they agree with something i've said.

And I don't mind affirmative responses during a talk. I was talking of the extreme. People that do it too much. I was simply saying I'd prefer the other extreme of complete silence rather than a remark or noise at the end of every sentence.

well i think it's a pejorative by nature.
i can't see using it as anything but mildly insulting. i think it implies that you do flaky crap but aren't really an artist.

that's how i use it.
