Yep, it's true.
I just spoke to my contact over at WGN and had it conmfirmed:
Hop On Pop will be playing on the WGN Morning News
Wednesday, Jan. 19th
In the 8:00 hour.
We'll do two 30-second "teasers" between 8:15 and 8:40 or so.
Then at 8:50 we'll have a SHORT interview, followed by a live, on-air performance of "Ashes On the Water"

Pretty psyched!
I'm gonna send out the email to my mailing list right now.

That's good exposure. Don't get WGN on my cable package right now, but used to when I lived a couple towns over. The Cubs saved my wife from post-partum depression. She cried when Harry C. died.

That's way more than just Chicago that you can potentially reach, though the likelihood of someone in Massachusetts or Florida having a reason to watch Chicago news is fairly low.

I don't think the show we're on is carried on the Superstation, unfortunately. But it's still damn good exposure.

Make sure you get someone to tape it - then include it as a DVD extra on your next CD.

Good luck, or break a multitude of legs, or whatever well-wishing is appropriate.

I think you should tape it, and put it up on your site.

If you want help doing this, maybe I can look into getting a digital recording of it for you that you can then host. (or circulate via CC.)

That would rock, if you could do that, TJ!

Cool and congratulations. We get WGN on basic cable out here. Does this mean I need to get up at 6 to watch you?

Don't know if this is going to be broadcast on the Superstation.

First off very nice, and congrats guys.

Second, Riviera did the same thing on there last March before their show at the Metro.

We do know that it is NOT viewable on WGN outside of the Illinois-Indiana-Michigan are. People on the east coast that tried to watch it ended up with reruns of some tv show.

You may GET WGN but it won't be the same feed guys. Sorry. :(

Probably. It's just anything further east then that or further west then possibly Iowa and all bets are off.

They'll just end up with re-runs of Full House or something.

Yeah, what a bummer that was.

Congratulations, though! Awesome.

What about Wisco? I mean, Kenosha is practically ChicagoLand, right now, and Milwaukee, for having a half-million in the city limits and being 80 miles up from the Big Shoulders, is still usually overshadowed* by its unruly neighbor metropolis.

*Of course, sometimes that happens in reverse. I remember, in the early or mid-nineties, maybe '94 or '95, Citizen King (Milw. band, now defunct) was voted best local band in some Chicago-specific weekly paper polling.

Uhh yeah, see apparently I can't read, cause I thought it was today and I was sitting in front of the tv wondering why you guys weren't on yet.

I am a complete dork.

Will someone be providing a digital version for those of us who can't catch it on the tube?
