I've been sitting in my room with the AC on high for a couple hours now.

i only have a/c in my bedroom at home.
which means, i pretty much stay in there during heatwaves.

relief is coming today in the form of a 99 degree day. 103 yesterday and saturday. new records (breaking the 'new record' that was set last year on those same days).

And therein, friends, lies the key. cotton, i thought that you'd have figured this out by now.

It sucks because I had stuff I wanted to do today, but now I'm just holed up inside the apartment with the AC blasting.

Plus with no AC in my car, it's probably 150 degrees in there sitting in the sun all day.

I hate this weather. Absolutely hate it.

And like Daystar, Summer is my least favorite season. I'm very happy when I can be inside in the air conditioning.

It's been near 100 and just over for the past couple days in Chicago. And it's not supposed to let up for about a week. I'm going to see a movie with my mom this afternoon then coming back to my 65 degree home.

Go see the Cubs. The breeze from the "boos" should cool you down.

Last night I had those kinds of nightmares you usually only get if you're running a very high fever.

It's f*cking insane here. Hmmfph. And people think Canada is constantly covered in snow. Weather site says it's 35C/95F... and then it says "feels like: 42C/108F". 56% humidity.

All we have is a ceiling fan.

Having lived through Maine winters where celcius and fahrenheit below-zero temperatures sometimes converge, I've got no complains about the heat.

weird, so did i... i had the most INSANE nightmares last night. i didn't eat before i went to sleep and i wasn't that drunk so maybe it was the heat? for a minute, i thought someone was in my room watching me sleep and it freaked me out. then i ended up waking up at 5:30am due to more insane nightmares and couldn't go back to sleep until 1 1/2 hrs later, only to have to wake up another hour later for work.

gaaah.

It's even disturbingly hot up here on the 56 degree latitude line.

looks like its going to be heating up here later this week - 93 on thursday and 99 on friday. still no humidity, though.

good thing we got this central AC last summer.

It is currently only 93 degrees here, but the heat index might get up to 105-110. Today and tomorrow are suppose to be the cool days, Wednesday it is suppose to get back up to 102. Yesterday it was 103. It was 98 here saturday with a heat index of 105 to 110, I had sweat pouring down my back as I came back from the grocery store. I didn't even bother leaving my apartment yesterday.

And, on top of it all, electricity bills are supposed to go up 30%, as the State of Illinois lifts the cap from utilities due to the skyrocketing price of crude.

ok, yeah, it's hot out there. i just walked across the street for lunch and was broiling between here and there. then again, it is july. i guess i should've expected this at some point. they say it's 92 and feels like 100.

frostingspoon was initially a joke about how, due to sugar allergy, I can't lick the mixing spoon when making cake. frosted came from that.

But endless Maine winter applies to the name too, I guess.

Also, drinking too much.

it wasn't too bad when i went into work, and i've been in my A/C'd office all day. i'm sure it will be balls when i walk outside though.

it's actually hotter. your balls will be like "damn, it's fuckin' HOT out here!"

i let the office provide the daytime AC...at night we only have fans in our apt but it really doesnt bother me since pants & shirts are only mandatory at work, & ice cream is cheap.
