from his onion AV club interview thing here

Quote:
I can't deal with other people making their musical tastes known to everybody else. I don't like people bobbing their heads or getting into stuff at all. It should be private. And the headphones I use are those Bose noise-canceling ones. And I keep it really loud. I like to listen to everything really loud. I don't even tap my feet. I hate that.

Thats kind of....weird. I guess I should start sitting rigidly at attention and not displaying any emotion at all while listening to music. Not exactly the sort of opinion you'd expect to be espoused by former trenchmouth members. Not to mention the man responsible for this:

Wasn't he the "fake" interviewer in the Wilco film? It sounds like a lot of the same kind of stuff. I wouldn't take much from Armisen or the Onion very seriously.

I feel your pain souvarine)))0. Just as I was warming to the ONION av club, again, the editor/editress starts giving way too many assignments to the hipper-than-thou Hipster Elite Corps. Josh Modell (Atomic Records's trust-fund baby owner), Kyle Ryan (erstwhile Tejano and one-time rock n' roller in nickisnotdead's postmillenial band, New Bomb Nationals), and Amelie Gillette. I hate this.

If the av club was mostly the work of Andy Battaglia, Tasha Robinson, and Keith Phipps -- the last person I would expect to extoll -- then I'd love it. Hell, even Nathan Rabin's backpacker-heavy hip-hop taste is artfully considered. The rest? Can't stand 'em. And there's too much of the rest.
