The only DH album I have is 13 Tales..., which I really liked at first, but rarely listen to now. Bohemian Like You, though over-played is one of my favorite "hits" of the last few years.

Are there other Warhol albums that are worth investigation, particularly Welcome to the Monkey House?

I never heard the newest album...

My favorite is probably their debut "The Dandy Warhols Come Down"

My favourite is actually 'Welcome to the Monkeyhouse', even though a lot of people don't care for the album. I find it to be their catchiest.

I particularly love the line from the title track.... "when Michael Jackson dies, we're covering Blackbird"

13 Tales is the best, followed by Monkey House and then Come Down, which was only OK.

Dandy's Rule OK has a couple of moments on it, but the craft was definitely perfected with Come Down and 13 tales.

Come down is where it's at.

I'm waiting for them to top it. Won't happen.

another vote for Come Down, but in terms of a balanced record/set of songs, 13 Tales is really the best they've put together. no comment on the last record.

I only have 13 Tales and Welcome to the Monkey House. I love 13 Tales and have listened to it a great deal, but failed to give Welcome to the Monkey House a chance after the first listen. I should try again.

See, I don't get the hate for this album. I really don't see how it's vastly superior to 13 Tales or Come Down for that matter and I own them all including Rule OK. Chalk it up to opinion, I guess, but I wouldn't call it "crap!"

dandy warhols are a great singles band. i guess the albums aren't horrendous, but it's the singles where they really shine.

I didn't care much for Monkey House. I don't have the first album. 13 Tales is really the only album I care about.

Anyone seen DIG! yet? I'm not a huge fan of the Dandys or Brian Jonestown Massacre, but it looks really interesting.

I prefer 13 tales over Come Down. Monkey House is good, but just know going into it that's it's more infectious pop music than previously heard from them. "The Dope" is a pretty good song off that album.

trivia note: the woman who designed our kitchen is now working on a home project for Courtney Taylor-Taylor.

Love DIG!

Got the DVD. Made my top 5 last year. Nice to see the polar opposite of success when it comes to bands like them. The trials and tribulations, the fuck ups, the punch outs. 7 years worth of that shit. Fascinating.

I think the main problem with Monkey House was that they were aiming for infectious pop but didn't quite nail the "infectious" part, so they ended up with a pop album without enough hooks. And pop without hooks is just annoying.
