Several links here:

For the rest of the the list:

1.USC
2. Texas
3. Ohio State
4. Oklahoma
5.Miami
6. Auburn
7.LSU
8.California
9. Florida
10. Tennessee
11. Florida State
12. Clemson
13. Michigan
14. Louisville
15. West Virginia
16. Viriginia Tech
17. Nebraska
18. Notre Dame
19. Georgia
20. Arizona State
21. Iowa
22. Penn State
23. Georgia Tech
24. Alabama
25. Missouri

The remaining Obner schools as ranked:
27. Maryland
29. Arkansas
30. Wisconsin
34. Michigan State
42. NC State
43. Pittsburgh
44. Texas A&M
45. UCLA
47. Purdue
53. Kansas
56. Northwestern
58. North Carolina
60. Rutgers
67. Syracuse
75. Washington
77. Illinois
83. Vanderbilt
84. Navy
89. Duke

I might have forgotten a few Obner schools or replaced them with the wrong school. I think Miami is way too high after how they finished last year. Nebraska seems about right when you consider they will have to play two if not three of the top four teams by the end of the year, if they win the Big 12 North as predicted.
I like where they have Notre Dame ranked, alot of pre-season polls have them in the top three and top five. I think West Virginia is getting slighted by these rankings, I'd put them in the top five due to their schedule and how they ended last year.

Yeah, WVU about ran Georgia out of the building, and, second half come backs, and Derris fights notwhithstanding, that fucking Sugar Bowl was embarassing. They openly had a full step on us on almost every play.

I am surprised Auburn isn't Top 5. thos low rents fucks are getting buck all over the radio down here. They suffer a particular SEC affliction, in that if they are supposed to be good, they usually STB.

Georgia even being ranked, given their QB situation is a like Goodfellas: "You know why? It was outta respect." Scotty D and I have set the over/under at 3 games of when Stafford starts, and have taken the under -- I wonder what Derris, Pagoda, Stu, and Bloor have to say about that.

I will end with Derris' greatest quote, from the 4th of July: "This is the official kickoff to the 2006 Football Season. It's all pregame from here on out."

42 Days? Can't FUCKING WAIT! GOOOOOOOOOOO DOGS!!! WOOF!WOOF!WOOF!WOOF!

i'm going to try and follow college football this year.
having only been to on D1 game in my life, i'm going to root for the team i saw: Georgia Tech.

nominate other teams i should follow and explain why.

for some reason i don't like Penn State and thats the only team people in philadelphia seem to care about. And i went to U of Delaware which has a great program but it's 1-AA.

Having played a show with Rory, you should be a Dogs fan, mang.

I dunno. I think Joe T. probably starts at least the first two games. How well he does at South Carolina probably determines whether or not he starts in week 3.

Honestly, I think Richt would rather play Cox or Barnes than Stafford this season. Depth aint a bad thing.

The one thing with Richt is that he WILL start the best player. I would just love it if Stafford turns out to be D Greene 2!

Harry:
I respect you for being a loyal Bruin fan and a major homer, but with that said, 45 is a respectable ranking for them. The CFN ranking is all about potential for the upcoming season, who they lost from last season and the schedule they have to play this year.
UCLA lost Drew Olson, Mercedes Lewis and Maurice Drew, that was the core of the their offense and they had absolutely no defense, especially a run defense.
They play Oregon, Notre Dame, California and Arizona State on the road and USC at home. If I was a Las Vegas oddsmaker I'd say they would be picked to lose each of those games by nearly ten points. They will be lucky if they go 2-3 in those games. If they go 8-3 or 7-5 with that schedule, they'll end up somewhere around where they are now in this ranking. They'll still make a bowl game in my opinion and will not end 5-7 as these guys state, but still won't finish with the record they did last year.

21? bullshit.

We would kick the shit out of Nebraska. And no way Michigan should be ranked so high. Tennessee at 10? Did anyone watch them last year?

All I have to say is that Nebraska beat Iowa State last year and the Hawkeyes did not. I'd say Iowa would beat Nebraska in Iowa City, but I think the Hawkeyes would take a pounding in Lincoln. Tennessee is ranked high because they have had some of the best recruiting classes over the last few years. The talent is there for them to be a title team, their coach is the person who might be holding them back. They are sort of suffering from the old Mack Brown syndrome, lots of talent, tend to play mediocre and never win the big games.

Look, DUDE, we know you hate ND and all, but try to be just a LITTLE objective. Even someone who can't stand them shouldn't be capable of ranking them outside the Top 10, if they're in their right mind. Truth be told, they are damn near a consensus preseason Top 5 pick.

But I'll have my revenge when your Huskers are having their asses handed to them in yet ANOTHER Alamo Bowl by the likes of Northwestern or Michigan State, while my Irish are back in the BCS.

DO NOT FUCK WITH THE WEIS GUYS!!!

And let me add that this is equally ridiculous. Both should be somewhere between 11-20 at best. USC lost all their skill position starters, while Texas lost the one man from their one-man team. What a fucking lame publication!

FT,
I've got no hatred for ND, the same way I loathe Duke Basketball. Like I said about UCLA, this poll is all about how you finished last year, your schedule this year and who you have coming back. CFN says ND's best possible record is 11-1 and will most likely be 11-2. Let's face it, last year ND was good because most of the tough teams on their schedule had a crappy. underachieving year. They played USC tough and should have won, but then they had their asses handed to them by Ohio State.
Texas is up top because they get Ohio State at home and only have to beat OU and Nebraska in conference. Both they and USC have so much talent in the cupboard that they should reload rather than rebuild. USC has a rather easy schedule, Arkansas and UCLA are the only difficult road games, they get Nebraska, Notre Dame, Cal and Arizona State at home.

BTW, Nebraska is most likely looking to make the Alamo or Holiday Bowl with their schedule, unless they somehow shock the world and win the Big 12 title game. They will most likely be 10-3 going into their bowl game. They have also never lost an Alamo Bowl. At least the Huskers have won a bowl game in the last decade.

I don't know why you got so pissed, but I'm sorry if I enraged you. I just know there are a ton of college football fans here and decided to post it. Like all those preseason polls you listed, they are all meaningless until you actually play a game.
I know alot of Husker fans have been real chippy lately on their boards, so maybe it has to do with the season coming up so soon and people getting anxious.
I probably take it as serious as you, but I don't get pissed when I get called a homer or Nebraska gets ripped on here.
Again, I'm sorry it made you so pissed.

Sorry for getting so carried away, Pat. I really should have directed my vitriol at that College Football News, because they should know better. I still find it difficult to believe that a guy as college football-savvy as yourself doesn't think ND is any better than a low-rung Top 20 team, but that's your prerogative.

Anyway, no hard feelings. Whenever I spout off like this, they end up getting upset early in the season, so I should probably just shut my mouth...haha.

You're good people, man, even if you do root for 'Roid U.

I think Jay Cutler is staring Heath Shuler's ignominious NFL career down the barrel.

I think you probably hit the nail on the head with this. ND hasn't tasted glory in almost 20 years, and I am SOOOOOOOOOOO wanting it to happen this year that I think it's got me majorly on edge as the season approaches. That's likely what triggered my irrational outburst.

Actually skills positions will be their strength ... nation's top prep quarterback Ben Olson back from the Mormon mission (what is it about Mormons and QB??) could be huge... lot's of talent at RB and ball catchers. Whole offensive line back. The defense (sigh) is the question mark. But given this, a team coming off 10 wins, and ranked as high s 5 BCS last season... should be higher than 45... like maybe 32.

FT--- so why didn't the Irish beat SC last year? God I hate the Trojans... and their being #1? Please.

UCLA 24 Irish 17

As much as I'd love to be able to blame the officiating at the end of the game, I will simply admit that USC was the better team. And I will also emphasize the past tense, as revenge will be exacted most seriously this season. I expect your Bruins to play us tougher than most, but they will suffer the same fate in South Bend as their cagers did in '74. The broken streak won't be as long, but I'll take the "W" regardless.
