Expertly done. You should hear subsequent versions of "Crosseyed & Painless". A couple come to mind: 11/2/06 (2 days after the above-mentioned Halloween show) and 12/31/99 (very early in the morning during their all-night millenium show).

The version of the Overload is a great summer song for me around 4:20.

Yep, that cleanly solves this long-standing inter-generational misunderstanding.

However another way I've noted the differences is, Trey v. Jerry. Trey has sharper musicianship, irony, range but he isn't hungry... Jerry was hungrily looking for resolution, imperfect, sloppy...

Self-satisfied v. very, very dissatisfied

Trey's hunger began shifting around 1998. One could contend that Trey was just as hellbent as Jerry in the decade leading up to then, but self-satisfaction seemed to be his chosen reward for having achieved something around that time.

On another note, my cousin, a head whose opinion I still trust, caught the Phuo - Trey, Mike, Benvenuto, Russo - in Toronto the other night, and said it was fantastic ...

Your messages have an air of bitterness. You sucked the blues out of New Minglewood and wouldn't wish on a Dark Star. What's up?

Before our time Bloor but remember every second. even the technical difficulties. Do you remember all the rumors of what they were going to play that night? Purple rain, and Thriller if I recall correctly.

I think it was Purple Rain or even 1984; they handed some kind of flyer thing though with all this background info on Remain In Light.

And yes, the technical difficulties. And the shitty fucking Omni sound. Which is why the soundboards of that show rule--you have no idea how tinny the sound was in person.

Recent reports from Toronto suggest that Trey (and Mike? Say it ain't so) are up to their old hungry tricks. An old friend of mine was apparently giving head to Mike when Trey entered the room, stuck his hand down the back of her pants, and she revolted. Other reports tell of Trey fucking another girl in the bathroom at the Century Room pre-party. I'm sure the cocaine and the oxycotinin are still in the diet, while the wife and kids are surprisingly still on the sidelines.

Nope.

Fiance's birthday + $38.00 ticket = not happenin'.

Heard it was pretty fun though. And yeah, I'm curious about Mexican Cousin as well. Love that song.

I thought you were just doing your passive agressive "I hate Trey and Phish now, but I'm still curious as to what they're up to because deep down I still love them" act.

My faux pas.
