What are your thoughts on Bush?

I'll resist the temptation to go with the obvious "Booger" (from Revenge of the Nerds) joke, and simply say that my opinion of him today is far less than it was before he took office. That being said, I also don't think he's the worst President ever, nor do I subscribe to any of the hyperbolic rantings of the extreme left comparing him to Hitler and such.

The bottom line is that from day one he has surrounded himself with people whose tactics and motives are questionable, and by seemingly taking their advice as gospel for more than six years without wavering, he now has no one but himself to blame for the fact that the general public's impression of him is one of a dim-witted puppet controlled by the far right.

I don't think he's a bad person, nor an overly stupid one. He's just not proven to be either good enough or brilliant enough to effectively lead the free world. I hated Reagan a lot more in my late teens and early twenties than I do Bush now. I'm more disappointed in Bush than anything...though that disappointment has blossomed into irritation over the years.

I was just kidding about the Pitt-Norton con. This thread ain't "Ask Frosted." And God isn't British. He's Sri Lankan.

no, not really.

I know I'm supposed to be answering the questions here, and not asking them, but has anyone ever seen Paul Kreppel and Bobby Bittman in the same room? I know I certainly haven't.

Holy shit, this may be the most amazing thing ever written about GWB. With a few tweaks, this could be hammered in to a Position.

Religions don't kill people; zealots kill people.

In the cupboard, next to your chipped teacups, broken dreams and unfulfilled potential.

The thing I'm most proud of about this thread is that I typed the above response while working in the church nursery.

Definitely pan.

I didn't blow past three bills eating "thin," and I sure as hell am never going to put anything in my mouth that was "hand-tossed," so it's got to be pan.

Preferably Chicago-style deep dish.

If you've led a good life, you go to Heaven. If you've led a bad life, you spend eternity in an unventilated efficiency apartment with Marge Schott, Bella Abzug, Fatty Arbuckle and no running water.
