I can't sleep at work. It's too annoying.

i think staring at a screen all day is what causes my work nappies. it doesn't help that the people on wnyc have such soothing voices either.

it depends. i've been so tired that i've gone into the bathroom at work and tried to nap for like 10 minutes at like 9 in the morning. sometimes i can wait until around 10:30 and then go take like a half hour nap in my car. usually i just wait until around 11 and sleep in my car as much as i can before i have to start my route. i've slept for as much as 3 hours in my car before.

Before being diagnosed with narcolepsy, I would nod off at work about 15-20 times throughout the day. Now I never do.

if i'm going to fight off sleep, it's going to be between 10 and 11am. i'm usually fine after that, especially once i've been to lunch. i am trying to get more sleep at night, so i hope to not tempt sleep during the day anymore.

Usually during the last 15-20 minutes of lunch when the lunch room gets a little too warm.

I sometimes come home at noon during my lunch break and lay down instead of eating, and then take a cup o' noodle back with me. Love living 'cross the street from work.

Me and a couple of friends were notorious for having napping competitions in class right around lunch time first semester...needless to say, i usually won because i managed to nap without the headbob that usually comes before the passout...and it always looked like i was staring down into a textbook.

Thank God for hats though...much easier when they can't see your eyes

I used to sleep so much in college. Almost never during classes, though those 8 in the morning classes were killers. I did however become known for coming home between classes and napping.

The nap is key in college...otherwise i wouldnt be able to function. Those all-nighters writing papers for Russian Lit. prolly didnt help my whole sleep cycle, but what the hell...thats what weekends are for. Gotta sleep off the hangover anyway!

At my previous job, a guy that did this got a promotion & got to move to New York. And I was laid off.

But I'm not bitter or anything.

But to answer the question, between 4-6PM-ish is difficult for me.

now at work, i only fall asleep when my mind isn't engaged -- aka, during pointless meetings. i do my best to stay awake.

i think it's a sin that the u.s. doesnt embrace the concept of siesta. my goal is to spend at least some of my working years in a locale that fully understands the beauty of eating a giant meal and then taking a nap.

His wifey? Let's hear it for nepotism in the Music Industry.

Yea :rawr:

As for myself, I usually wake up at around 1:30 PM. Therefore, my sleepy time comes in the first few hours of work...

Ohhh the days when I used to drive my truck to the end of my former employer's parking lot, sit under the trees and take a 20-30 minute nap after eating lunch. I'm lucky if I get to eat my lunch away from my desk. And sitting in my car these days isn't enticing at all...especially when we have underground parking -- it's that much closer to hell. I can tell by the temperature down there.

Lately, I've been getting bad cases of the driving drowsies. Briefly nodding off at stop lights and even periodically in moving traffic. It kinda scares me, frankly. Today's the first day I haven't felt tired in forever.
