Just finished reading the PFM reiview and not surprisingly it really doesn't help me at all in the idea if I should look further into these ladies.

Are we talking 60's girl group revival with ironic lyrics, or boring indie pop with a girl group look? Are we in the vein of Belle & Sebastian?

I understand that I could seek out an MP3 online, but I'd rather just hear opinion.

Do you like pop music?

If you like pop music, get it.

If you like three girls in polka dots singing and alternating lines and backing-each other up, with reminiscences of '60s brill-building and anything by Phil Spector, get this.

I can't put forth how much I love them.

OMFG!!!!!!!
i LOVE these girls and stacey can attest to my madness as they are playing every time she walks into my apartment.

they are totally doing a shrangri-la schtick as the bitchfork states but are clean, freash, fun. nothing boring about them for me. not a bad song on the lp--which i have yet to purchase.

"pull shapes" is going to be vetty, vetty tough to beat as my complete and total number one song of the year and if i wasn't such a techno tard i would ysi it.

i could continue to carry on like a squeamish 15 year old girl but i'll leave it at this. definitely in my top 5 if not top 3 albums of the year.

And I score!!!

I really like it as well (I don't even have a burned copy, but that's how much I've heard it at ayah's). Lots of fun.

I just wish it were out in North America. I e-mailed them asking if there were any plans for a release date over here but got no response.

Sounds more like one of the singles or the EP, maybe.

I like this album quite a bit, but it kinda sounds like the golden era of girl groups if the girl groups didn't have access to the Brill Building. Same street, of course, just a different building.

So instead of songs written by Gerry Goffin and Carole King, these songs are written by Niles Chumpsky and Gleason Ferber.
