If it was a joke, why wouldn't it be funny?

"I don't appreciate your ruse, ma'am."
"My what?"
"Your cunning attempt to trick me."

I thought the letter was extremely lame and not funny. Or was that the point to be as not funny as Owen Wilson?

What's so wrong about touring with Michael McDonald?

I think that No-Tell typewriter had a bum space bar.

Also, they should get Chevy Chase back in the band.

I think the thing that really needs to be said to Steely Dan is:
Bottle Rockets sucked man, it is shit, you need to focus on being musicians and not film critics.
Owen Wilson has done some shit films, but I'd still take Wedding Crashers over Bottle Rockets.

Regardless of the sincerity of the letter, I picked up 3 Dan albums today and after listening to them all, fuck Owen Wilson.

Speaking of Chevy Chase...

Quote:
Vacation star Chevy Chase has strange things to say about Vince Vaughn.

In the new Details magazine, Chase states: "Recently, I saw a commercial with, is it Nicole Kidman? No, no - Jennifer What's Her Name? From 'Friends,' and some guy. I had never seen him. I don't know who the [bleep] he is. He looks like some refrigerator repairman."

Chase was referring to a commercial for the Aniston/Vaughn comedy, The Break-Up.

Should Chevy be making fun of anyone, besides maybe MC Hammer, at this point?

The You, Me & Dupree actor says he doesn't know "who this gentleman, Mr. Steely Dan, is."

Owen Wilson served up a frothy response to Steely Dan's accusations.

Owen Wilson, lead actor in the flick You, Me & Dupree, has released a statement responding to the band Steely Dan's claims that the concept and name of the title character in the actor's latest flick, was lifted from one of the band's songs. Referencing an open letter Steely Dan posted on their site -- which suggested the couch-dweller in You Me & Dupree was modeled after the incest-loving loaf in their single, "Cousin Dupree" -- Wilson released this statement: "I have never heard the song 'Cousin Dupree' and I don't even know who this gentleman, Mr. Steely Dan, is. I hope this helps to clear things up and I can get back to concentrating on my new movie, 'HEY 19.'" ("Hey Nineteen" is the name of one of Steely Dan's earlier tracks).

Now, this is a joke.
