I've been rediscovering YLT 'And Nothing Turned Itself Inside-Out' for the past week. It's perfect for the season and weather here right now. 'The Last Days Of Disco' is just killing me.

Tricky 'Maxinquaye' has also been getting a crap load of spins. Maybe it's the weather, but I'm digging really depressing music right now.

What's your cup of tea at the moment?

Dalen,

how do you hear/get all of these releases? You're constantly putting new music on the table that I've never heard before...it's amazing and frustrating at the same time because I feel like I'm always out of the loop.

Early last week, I picked up Sufjan Stevens' Seven Swans used at a local indie shop and have listened to it at least 3x per day ever since. I'm considering another trip to pick up Greetings from Michigan... sometime this week.

I've not been listening to much music lately so I've not been digging into my collection. I'm mainly giving twirls to the five albums I've bought in 2005. A couple of label samplers, a b-boy compilation, the Fiery Furnaces EP and PiL's 'Metal Box'.

Not full album spins, but lots of alt-country and singer/songwriter tunes in the listmaker. Beth Orthon, Elliott Smith, 16 Horsepower, Alison Krauss, Pernice Bros, Bonnie "Prince" Billy...

Me, too. I've been spinning a playlist/mix of stuff alternately called "Sunday Morning Coming Down," or another line from that song "I woke up sunday morning with no way to hold my head that didn't hurt" its just slow enough, just sad enough, but just mongerous enough to be the perfect tired/hungover/depressed/cold weather disc.

It's Sufjan, Alejandro Escovedo, Solomon Burke, Bobby Bare, The Truckers, Kathleen Edwards, and slower stuff by The Delays, The Concretes, Spiritualized, Beck and BSS.

Benny, have you spun this yet?

Alternating that with stuff like T.I.'s Urban Legend and Scarface's The Diary recently.

to be honest, i spend a lot of time searching for new and interesting artists, from every genre pretty much. i love hearing something new and different. i spend nights [after my wife goes to sleep usually] listening to everything, and we listen to music all day at work.

if you'd like, i can IM/ichat you any of the releases above. I'll be on later at home, so hit me up and i'll hook you up. screen name is ElementDalen. i love turning people on to some good new tunes.

it's really gentle and mellow. love the warm vibe on this album. for some reason, it reminds me of gravenhurst, or even xela.
