I lost my usb 2.0 cord for the transfers between computer to mp3 player( Creative Zen Nomad 40 GB).

Do I have to go through the Creative Source site and purchase the same one or can I use any other cord as long as it's 2.0?

I'm picturing the envelope-and-stamp method. It's this one, right?

Just e-mail me your address.

I have the same cable and same Creative Zen. Everytime I plug it into my computer, I get a little pop up bubble telling me my transfer can run much faster if I use my high speed USB port....

What the heck does that mean? I only have two ports and I have tried them both.....Did HP put these low quality ports into my machine? The transfer rate is fine for me, but if it can be quicker, I'd like it to. dang.

Dov, your computer was probably just made before the USB 2.0 standard was introduced. If you want a faster transfer, you'll need something like this.

ugh, thanks! I'll live with what I have. The rate of transfer is hardly bad, I just hate not having the fastest route....the computer is a damn pentium 9 or something.

Im not putting anything else into my computer besides a dvd burner sometime in the next few weeks...

Im so overly careful with my computer to start off with....I virus check every single thing that enters my computer. I de-frag, disk scan, dust to keep my computer from breaking down, and shit always happens...

I guess Im a bit gun shy in putting foreign crap in there....Thank god I got the extended warranty cause i have brought my computer in a few times this last year, and it sucks....

but for $5,maybe its worth it.....

you could go for the firewire card and the blazingly fast song-a-second instead of the pedestrian song-every-second-and-a-third or what have you. i just found the firewire port on my machine; as i didn't remember ordering one, i assumed that i didn't have it. then the gf asked what it was for and i was all like "damn!".

Anyway, does the cable matter? i thought that 1.0 or 2.0, the cable was the same. at least, it's never come up in my experiences.

I've got both cards: firewire for my iPod, USB 2 for portable hard drive. From a quick search on newegg, the USB cable appears to matter.
